If Freddy had been our Queen, I would have been a Royalist.
I mean, the Royal Family is taking us up the *** anyway, so there would be little difference....
Latest theories say that Jack The Ripper was a member of the Royal Family.
Man, I didn't know Charles was that old.
He does have a craving for old tarts, though, so that could be a clue...
Waitaminute! Belgium has a QUEEN???
Isn't that kind of like having a screen door on a submarine?
Rich
Well, I was talking about the Queen of England.
But Belgium does have a King and Queen.
They do very little either, except get a very extravagant allowance (millions a year) for cutting a few ribbons.
The Queen of England, well, she's one the richest people in the world.
And yet, when one of her castles was damaged by fire, she had the tax payers pay the bill. Poor thing has to hold on to her savings, you know. You never know when she might have to buy a new sweater or something....
Maybe someone can enlighten me but I didn't think the royal family received a whole lot of taxypayer dollars anymore. I thought most of their money is just passed down from one generation to the next.
Sure, they live tax free in Buckingham Palace along with some other estates and have body guards and employees which are paid by the government but so do ex-presidents of the U.S.
If people want to have a queen that's fine with me ..
They have the right to waste their money on whatever they want
I'm just saying, it is a waste, imo
I guess I agree it's a "waste" in many respects...but, again, slippery slope
Who know how I'd feel if someone recruited me to recalibrate a country's
economics/taxes that had a Royal Family---after weighing everything
out---I may be persuaded and compelled to pursue diminishing the whole
"royal" thing.
If this is "politics talk"---I apologize---I never actually thought I'd get any
where near that...
