And let's face it--Elliott is an acquired taste. From his work on the old Letterman show to GET A LIFE and CABIN BOY--I LOVE the guy and totally get his humor, but 9 outta 10 people can't stand the guy......

I was just watching these the other night on YouTube. I hate to use the word "genius" cause it's overused quite a bit--but, in terms of breaking comedic new ground, I think it true in this case. Those bits he did on Letterman were so ahead of their time. Post-Modern, Surreal, Bizarre. Like Kaufman, sometimes it's the audience reaction that is the joke. Brilliant.
