Anyone else hate CHICO and the MAN ?

I used to always HATE Chico and the Man with a passion.
I still do today.

First thing, I never cared much for Freddie Prinze.
He was ok, but imo not funny enough to deserve his own show.

I also used to and still do --- HATE CHARO.
IMO, she's not sexy and not funny.


Just wanted to find out if I have any allies here

I used to watch it when I was a kid (after Sanford and Son on Fridays) and thought I liked it. But I watched it a few years back and it doesn't hold up past the first few episodes. Charo is an annoyance and it REALLY sucks/jumps the shark when Prinze passed away and they gave the "Man" a new "Chico", some little kid, PLUS the annoying Della Reese. Bleech!

I remember watching as a kid. It was ok. I liked the old guy, can't think of his name at the moment. Albert something. Hey there was only like 5 channels back then.

I know my family used to watch the show, but I really do not remember much of it except for the beginning of the theme song "Chico, don't get discouraged...." over thirty years and I can still remember the melody of a tv show theme that I did not watch on a regular basis. I think I have problems

Love the show, except for the season they added the little guy. Like Lousie the Garbage Man AKA voice of Hong Kong Fooie, It was like when they replaced the son on Sanford and Son with the white honkie fat guy. Cann't wait until it gets out on DVD.

I watched a lot of other sitcoms from that era when I was a kid (eg. Sanford and Son, which I always liked) but for some reason, I never got into Chico and the Man. I have no idea if I would like it now though.

The show was a great hit and I loved it. The show is dated....but it still has it's charm. It lost all it's air when Prinze died. They should have ended the show it was tacky that they kept it going. Prinze was a Brilliant comedian who had lot's of problems.

Sorry, but I LOVE FREDDIE PRINZE, and I love this show. Watched it religiously as a kid, watched reruns, and watch it now on AOL IN2TV. When I was a kid, I had a "Chico" sweatshirt. Now I have his album, "Looking Good". Before he was famous, Freddie lived a block away from me (and I never knew it until after the show came out and he moved away), and I was really crushed when he committed suicide.

As a kid I thought Prinze was cool. I couldn't believe he killed himself. He would have done a lot of funny things if he lived.
