Well unless you know a way to elevate the continental shelf, Stop the polar ice caps from melting, Change the weather there isnt much choice.

Any measures taken will just slow the inevitable. Better to move people now.

Dont get me wrong. I'd love to see a beautiful historic city preserved, to see the polar bears get their sea ice back and I certainly dont want to see our weather get more and more destructive.

Unfortunatly damage is done. Instead of wasting resources like Mike says we should look in to long term answers
Lo there do I see my Father.
Lo there do I see my Mother and my Sisters and my Brothers.
Lo there do I see the line of my people back to the begining.
      Lo they do call me.
They bid me take my place among them.

Bill, are you crazy?? Cleveland?? I moved to Phoenix to get away from Ohio. lol It may be hot in the summer months, but man, the other 9 months of the year are fantastic. I have a pool, a grill and ac. what more can you ask for? Cook steaks or whatever on the grill, eat it in the ac and then go for a swim. The water is 90 degrees now. Phoenix has 330 days of sunshine. It makes it hard to be in a bad mood when the sun is shinning.

While we're at it, let's just move all cities. They oughta move LA and SF AWAY from fault lines. I mean, WHAT WERE THEY THINKING? Maybe plop 'em down in Nevada or Arizona.

And all those cities in TORNADO ALLEY oughta be moved to somewhere else, too. In fact, move the whole state of Kansas to NEW JERSEY. That might work.

This is actually a great idea.

Tropical storm Hanna should be a category 1 - 2 hurricane before it hits somewhere between Miami and Savannah, GA. And from what the weather channel was saying there is another that is following that. Welcome to hurricane weather. The tornados will follow.

I am surprised with all the open land between Phoenix and Flagstaff that they haven't put up a boat load of solar panels. It hardly ever rains here. I am surprised no one has thought of it yet. The utility companies wouldn't have anything to worry about then.

I am not sure where in FL you are Bill. I hope that Hanna doesn't give you too much of a problem in the upcoming week. Best wishes.

I also wondered why people would live in New Orleans and for many the bottom line is, It's home. It's hard to move away from your history, people, and culture. Many after the first hurricane moved here and quite frankly just didn't fit in. This was not their home so they left and I understood.

I'm in Tempe/Mesa often. The heat isnt that bad in AZ. I live in Vegas( Nevada) , the summers are hot, but not as bad as some say. Opinions i guess. The Scorpions, well they bother me! Recently got stung!
