But.... didn't Marvel bring Bucky back by saying, y'know... he just WASN'T dead? (OR sixty years older....)

    Don C.
Yeah but that was more believable...after all, Cap survived the bomb blast (albeit in a block of ice for over 40 years), so why couldn't Bucky? Bucky was captured by the Russians and was kept in some sort of stasis tube when he wasn't on missions...so he didn't age as he should have. If you accept that sort of fantasy element in Captain America to begin with, super-soldier formula and all that, it works.

Jason Todd's revival, as mentioned above, was a cop-out, pure and simple because the writer behind the revival had no idea what he was doing...kind of a flying-by-the-seat-of-your-pants way of scripting IMO.

The difference with Bucky was, we never saw a body. The drone-plane blew up, Cap screamed "BUCKY" and fell into artic waters. Sure that scene was repeated ad nauseum for 40 years, but we never did get a definitive body ID.

With the Toddster, he was shown battered, blown-up and D-E-A-D right from the get-go. Batman even says "he's already cold".

Plus Winnick is no Ed Brubaker. Brubaker brought Bucky back for a reason other than to just be the new "anti-hero". Yeah, we need more of those.

Yup...a crowbar to the head will do that to you. Especially one swung with such enthusiasm as the Joker did!

I didn't follow the whole Jason Todd is back thing, since Winnick is THE WORST writer around. Did he get revived in the Lazerus Pit? And was that the original plan for the Hush character?

After the super-punch, Jason done woke up! He wandered around with a bit of amnesia and was found by Talia, who threw him in the Lazarus Pit. That sorta made him a little screwy in the head. At some point he hooked up with Hush (Tommy Elliot) and encountered Batman, at which point the switch with Clayface was pulled...confusing Batman at the time.

^ Yeah the whole Jason Todd revival is right up there with Ben Reilly IMO.

Here are the DC Panels from Comic Con. Of particular interest is the Batman - No rest for the Dark Knight panel.
