I also liked The Shazam! Tv show...but only the episodes with Jackson Bostwick. The show was cheesy as hell but Bostwick was perfect casting as The Big Red cheese. It was nothing like the comic book but it had it's charm with Mentor the Elders and I loved the Winnebago they drove around in....I so disliked John Davey as Cap.

      1) '66 Adam West Batman - that show rules!

      2) The Incredible Hulk - The one thing I've never like about the character is that he spoke; yeah, I get that he was basic and primal like Mr. Hyde - but because of Bill Bixby I learned words like metamorphasis and pathos. Give me a growling, non-speaking Hulk any day. The theme was cool and the opening was cool.

      3) Greatest American Hero - Superman and Shazam all rolled into one! With a touch of Black Lightning. And another great theme song. The only thing cooler than Ralph and his suit was Robert Culp chewin' on Milk Bones.

      4) Wonder Woman - Who paid attention to what the episodes were about anyway? Coolest bit of trivia about the show that probably everybody knows by now - the costume shrank in the move from ABC to CBS. Yes!

      5) The Flash - This was genius. Pre-CSI; although it had too much '90's in it, and they stripped it down too much, so that there was no way to introduce other heroes the way Smallville has.

I really like Smallville, because in some cases I think it's what these other series could have been. All the others could have grown past the formula and lasted more than the few seasons they did. But, all of them were trapped in the time and conventional wisdom they were on television.

It would have been nice to see Batman break out of the mold and face some classic villains - like The Scarecrow and Two-Face in a little more unconventional format. Oh, well. I dream when I sleep...
