Good heros to appear on TV

The Greatest American Hero. Everyday guy gets super suit whats not to like?
The Man from Atlantis- Well I dont think it was bad anyway.
Captain Power- Good writing for a kids show, decent effects
Captain Planet- Come on he's for the Environment
Meteor Man- OK it was a movie but a movie that was on TV . Love a guy who gets super powers but is afraid of heights. Not everyone gets powers and all of a sudden they are jumping off sky scrappers. MM flies 5 feet off the ground.
    Green Hornet
    The Tick

    Wonder Woman
Superman Sorry these were no brainers. I was talking in addition to.
    Bat Man (Adam West)

Lo there do I see my Father.
Lo there do I see my Mother and my Sisters and my Brothers.
Lo there do I see the line of my people back to the begining.
    Lo they do call me.
They bid me take my place among them.
In the halls of Valhalla where the brave may live forever.

The Man from Atlantis- Well I dont think it was bad anyway.
The TV movies were really high calibur stuff but the resulting series got stinky real quick.

Captain Planet- Come on he's for the Environment
He made me want to stop recycling. He KING SIZED SUCKED.

I loved the Sable TV Series, think the Spirit TV Movie is fun and JLU is one of my favourite shows.

Yeah I'd rate '66 Bats, Reeves' Supes and Lynda Carter's Wonder Woman as the best of the TV super-hero bunch....running a somewhat distance fourth I'd say "The Incredible Hulk".

I may be alone here, but I really liked the live action Tick show. I have the series on DVD.
Bat-manuel still makes me giggle till I stop!

There have been many more successful animated efforts so I will also list liveaction super hero shows (to me Capt power is straight Scifi since it is set in the distant future)

Hulk - still love Bill and Lou
Flash - only 1 season but it was getting better each episode
Green Hornet - better written than batman and it had Bruce Lee
                  Batman 66 - always great
Wonder Woman - As a young boy I could watch that show all day especially the 1st season in ww2 when she fought the Nazi's

All you guys that like the Flash, have you seen it in the last few years?

The reason I ask is I was an avid fan back in the day so I started watching it on Friday nights here, it's a lot cheesier than I remembered.

Yeah it was a bit cheesy,The episodes that John Francis Moore and Howard Chaykin wrote are the ones I like the most. The Trickster episodes were really good. Also the episodes with Nightshade were very good. Then there were a few throw aways. The show had lots of potential but CBS wanted to go againts Cosby and The Simpsons bad Idea...then they moved it to saturdays were it just died. Had this show been syndicated it may have lasted longer...too bad I liked Shipp as the Flash.

I hated it when it was on; but saw a few episodes a month or so back and yeah, it was cheesy.... but what really struck me was how dark, and often brutal it was.

The Incredible Hulk used to bug me. In the comics he fights robots, and aliens, and monster guys. And on the show.... he catches cattle rustlers and thieves. *sigh*

As you know that had alot to do with the show coming after the success of Tim burtons Batman. I think everyone was trying to copy that. The Danny Elfman music and the very Muscular suit that Shipp wore on the show.

I liked the Nighshade episodes as well. Does anyone know if the show was planned all along, or was CBS just trying to cash in on Batman 89?

The Flash began as a concept called "Limited Powers" basically a Justice League made up characters like the Flash and Green Arrow's Daughter (?) When the Batman movie hit big, CBS greenlit the Flash part of the show.

I think Nightshade was one of the best characters the series did, obviously based on Sandman, the actor who portrayed was just great. On Friday, they played "The Deadly Nightshade" which is good up until the last act when it's ruined by that stupid exo skeleton.

The series had some highs but lately, I've only been catching it's clunkers and wow, there were a few.
