I'm looking forward to the movie, but is it just me or does this pic look a little too "comic-con"? ya know, like fans dressing up and recreating the scene? maybe it just needs to be weathered a bit so it looks like it's actually 68 years old. Good costumes though!
They look a lot like how many serial heroes looked, kind of lumpy and out of shape with ill fitting costumes. I can't imagine that this is anything but intentional and I love it.
The Night Owl's book mentions how they were kind of a laughable looking bunch.

I have hopes for this movie. I don't want to get them up too high and be disappointed, but I have hopes that it isn't League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. That was a slight letdown. I didn't see V for Vendetta because of that - and because reviews were so bad...
For a movie they said was unfilmable, they are certainly doing a good job from what I've seen so far. Everything is pointing in the direction of a very cool movie.
Awesome! I loved the comic story, I just hope the movie is close.
From what I hear Zack Snyder says he's going to do it as close to the comic as he can, yeah, that's something I will have to see to believe, I also heard the pirate comic isn't in it! Now THAT upsets me.

To be honest, I can't see how that aspect of the story would be workable in a film. It worked perfectly fine in the comics medium, Moore did a great job with it, but I just can't see it translating well to film, it would just continuously interrupt the flow of the movie and besides, it will already be difficult enough to compress the comic into a feature length film without having to add the whole pirate story too. I'm just glad it's not being completely forgotten, with the animated DVD and all.
