DC recasting the Flash for films is STOOOPID...

What is wrong with these knuckleheads?
The Flash is arguably the best thing DC has going right now live action wise, and they have a perfect opportunity to tie their movie and TV universes together and they blow it.

same would go for Green Arrow if they used him in a movie. They really should make the tv and movies interact. Of maybe that's too Marvel like for them?

It really is stupid. And the basic nature of the Flash, and the TV series in particular, could have Grant Gustin's Flash enter into a parallel world, team-up with the JL, and be back home in time for the next season. Kinda like Superboy and the Legion.

It's a weird move to have a Flash TV show and make a Flash movie that isn't the same cast. I can see why they're doing it but the average person is going to wonder why it isn't Grant Gustin up there.

I guess it's not so bad if you consider we almost got a Justice League film with another Superman and Batman when Routh and Bale were a going concern. But it still makes absolutely no sense.

I get the different universe thing and I guess as comic fans we should be able to.

What gave me a bad feeling was my wife's reaction to the movie Flash actor, she made a face like i rubbed old gym socks under her nose. She's not alone on this, people lurv Gustin.

We're huge Flash fans, so this guy has a LONG way to go. I actually feel sorry for him. They are kinda setting him up for failure. If they weren't doing a solo Flash film, and he was only in JL, I don't think it would be nearly as bad.

If they decided to bring the charm of Flash and Arrow to the big screen, then I'd be all for it. But based on what I have seen of the DC Cinematic Universe, I am *so* glad they are keeping these as two separate and distinct entities.

Recasting for any of these films is stupid. Best example would be DC was ripe for doing a Superman movie just as Smallville was ending its run on TV. Perfect ending for the show and perfect beginning for the movie would have been last scene of the TV series you see Clark heading off to Metropolis and then at the end of the credits have a blurb about how you will be able to see the continuing story in next years Superman the movie. That cast was almost perfect for a movie. DC blew it and have what I can't even recognize as movie/s. Welling was perfect as Clark/Superman. Michael Rosenbaum was perfect as Luthor. Erica Durance was perfect as Lois Lane. It's completely idiotic that they HAD to go for established stars instead of tapping into what was already a built in audience. Same goes for any other movie that they may do. Marvel has done the complete opposite of what DC has done and gotten it right. Then again Marvel hasn't done TV as well as DC has done it. That's why it's a reverse situation for Marvel.

Again, I go back to the whole premise that DC/Warner is run by a bunch of "Bean Counters" and NOT by fans that get it and that understand what bringing those characters to life is all about. It's about CONSISTENCY. That's why DC is in a complete MESS with their continuity and comic sales. It's sad that they've destroyed not only their universe but their fan base.

I think of the DC movies as subpar Elseworlds and the TV stuff as the real deal.

And it's pretty obvious that Time Warner based their Flash head off Cast-A-Way's generic hero head.

As a lifelong Superman fan, I found him duller than dishwater and the last thing I wanted was a Smallville movie.

As dull as he may have been, you have to admit that Smallville was better than any of the Superman reboots. Those are just awful.
