I think someone shot off before it was finalized.

From the time of FF Tranking to Disney partitioning of MCU away from Marvel publishing, things dramatically changed. MCU is a Disney company now, more or less an IP licensee of Marvel. It's much closer to how WB operated DC and WB/CW around the Smallville days.

The revamp of the Marvel schedule and the non-denial that Infinity is going to cost a Billion means something real big happened. I was assuming it was going to be Jackman and a mix of X characters, but Lord knows Disney is quietly after Jennifer Lawrence for Captain Marvel, and she's going to cost a fortune.

The irony would be if FF knocked Inhumans into being the FF storyline. They would probably lose Vin in the process. He was the consensus pick for Thing pre-Trank, but Marvel stole him originally for Thanos then changed it to Groot/Black Bolt.

I want Emily Blunt as the Invisible Woman.

I also want Emily Blunt as Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers).

I also want Emily Blunt as Power Girl.

I also want Emily Blunt as the Silver Surfer...and Hector as Galactus...

An "official" response that the film rights have not reverted ...

20th Century Fox has confirmed to ComicBook.com that the film rights to the Fantastic Four remain at the studio, despite rumors to the contrary. The rumors followed yesterday’s announcement that two X-Men television pilots were being developed for Fox networks as a co-production between Fox Television and Marvel Television. The rumors implied that the Fantastic […]

... then again, the film rights for Sony's Spider-Man did not revert back to Marvel either. Sony owns the film rights and will receive a significant chunk of the upcoming Marvel Studios made Spider-Man flick. They just got into a somewhat complicated agreement to have both studios use the character. So this statement supposedly from Fox doesn't firmly contradict the possibility of Marvel Studios' use of the Fantastic Four.

This is what I would like as well.

Movie 1: 60s--Quick origin, they are changed traditionally and their ship ends up thereafter in a parallel Negative Zone, fighting Annihilus and his lackey Blastaar. Some humor, lots of clobbering time, Reed's quick wit's save the day with Sue's help and and they travel back to earth as the film ends...

Movie 2: Starts in medias res, the ship arrives in modern times (Negative Zone time-warp). Reed is worth a fortune as his assets have appreciated. He's a Bernard Quatermass-type futurist and the second film should involve a Skrull infiltration/invasion or a properly-presented Dr. Doom. (The heck with market concessions to Red China, North Korea, or oligarch Russia.) This plotline opens up threads for more sequels.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

I think you just want Emily Blunt.

Both studios have refuted the story, but I think it will happen. Marvel and Fox will announce it on their own terms, though. Disney pulling Feige and the Marvel film division under its wings would allow a deal to be made without Perlmutter in the mix. He's the one that's been trying to squeeze Fox. Disney and Feige maybe using honey rather than punitive action could be structuring a deal that would be profitable to both. Disney agreeing to give Fox the TV rights for the X-Men does seem to be an olive branch. Too much smoke without some kind of fire. The FF film would be so far down the line that there would be no real reason to announce it now. That could come at a future Disney Expo or Comic Con.

If they ever make a proper FF flick...and Dr Doom is still used...I want Mads Mikkelsen to play him...he would be PERFECT...he has the look, the gravitas...and the overall acting chops to pull it off...

Heck, forget the FF...Marvel should just go after Doom. Imagine him versus The Avengers, awesome...

                          Ditto

I would add that they COULD tie this with Dr. Strange using Agatha Harkness...

There is potential there with links to Scarlet Witch & Annihilus
