Part of me wants to peek at this summer's attempt, the other part of me wants it to be the one Superhero film I never see. That was supposed to be Frank Miller's crapfest "The Spirit" but I got drunk and it was on netflix.....Places to find PlaidStallions online: https://linktr.ee/Plaidstallions

I would have to think that Marvel would introduce the FF into the movie universe by having them show up in an Avengers film or (more likely) a Guardians film first before spinning off into a series of movies of their own. After the stink of the Fox stuff , it would make sense they establish a new group first, even if it involved say Reed Richards pre FF helping SHIELD or such.Comment

It makes sense as the tv X projects came out of nowhere and were not the ones in development. The assumption was Hellfire replaced X-Men First Class and Legion swapped for Cable or Wolverine, but no one knew why.
But a larger deal would make sense. Marvel didn't want Wolverine on tv as it's seen as devaluing the ip, (Gotham with it Batman), and the talk stopped. But Marvel has been incredibly coy about Inhumans rights, as I and some other long-timers were debating from the original announcement that Black Bolt and family were tied into FF. If Surfer was apart of FF, then wh not Inhumans? And Marvel would never confirm nor deny that issue.
As has been reported before the X tv shows, Inhumans is off the schedule. So it could be Fox killed the movie, forcing Marvel to revamp, then marvel killed the X shows just by threatening litigation over tv rights. So the two swapped with an agreement that FF is a co-production with Fox, like Sony and Spidey, and Inhumans gets benched so it doesn't dilute the X brand as that was Perlmutters approach.
EDIT: I think this also guarantees Jackman for Infinity. Maybe Infinity 2 actually becomes Secret Wars. You could spin FF easily out of that with no need for an origin reboot.Last edited by hedrap; Oct 15, '15, 8:03 AM.Comment

That's good news if it's true. I think the Fantastic Four's next depiction should be as an established team with perhaps a brief flashback or something to show their origin. I'm not sure another origin story is the way to go.
Now if they want to make a traditionally animated version using Jack Kirby's designs and set in the 1960s then an origin story would be welcome. I know this isn't going to happen but I can dream.
However The Fantastic Four returns in a movie I hope they don't *#@~ up Doctor Doom again!Comment

So far it seems to still be rumours only with conflicting sources.
But really, with the horrible results from the last movie you would think a Marvel-Sony like deal is inevitable.
I saw the new FF movie and it wasn't that bad until about 40% in ... then it fell apart quickly.

I've seen every Marvel produced film other than Avengers 2 and Ant-man which I will see soon. I thought Thor: the Dark world was the weakest link.
Back to the subject
I'd love to see a Trench coated Thing make a cameo in a space bar in the next Guardians.
That would get the buzz going for future appearances and maybe a stand alone film.Comment
