Well, in the context of if my theory is correct, the answer to your question is hard to pin down---and, tho that may be true, we can celebrate that the more it's discussed in a helpful dialogue, the closer we will be to an understanding of why the world works the way it works. In this case, societies stereotypical views on men and women.

I suppose, but I'd have to really understand your meaning on HOW it makes Ursa more threatening. If you look over my theory, it's based upon societies' views on gender and child molestation plus a few additional things springing from that. I may wrong on what the writers' original intent actually WAS, but that's a separate (if not connected) issue.

EDITED TO ADD: I think you mean it makes Ursa more of a "loose cannon". And that's the sole reason they added that to her character? Possibly. On that path, then, yes, you could consider that "sexist towards women", as Zod and Non are particularly more business-minded.

They're merely (!) megalomaniacal or violent; the suggestion is that there's something particularly unwholesome or sadistic about her. It's a loaded word, used in a specific context as shorthand characterization.
"Perverse"? "Unwholesome"? But, I already mentioned earlier above in my own theory that they labeled Ursa with the "worst" label. So, you're echoing that.

So, now we're right back to my original point. And that is: If they would have done that with the men villains, it would have taken the movie farther away from a family-ready audience.

And that's a comment on an aspect of society that embodies sexism towards males. No biggie. That's just life, and that sexism exists regardless of if my theory on why the writers' utilized that in Superman II is correct or not.
