I haven't seen this much angst since the Han Hoth Jacket Color Debate (Blue vs. Brown)

Captain Kirk's nipples looked either pink or brown depending on the lighting. Discuss.

lol Actually, there's this whole debate amongst ST: TOS fans as to the actual uniform colors...

the ears magically turned blue, too.

The joker's hair always looked yellow-brown to me in season 1.he looked more green remastered... And... I always thought Batman's deets looked indigo-blue. Call it purple if u must. I agree.

^ You can see some tweaking along the way: Joker had modified wigs, first olive and then more green. Penguin had a wig at first, and different top-hats.

That's because the color was green and nobody believes it...

I am probably wrong here, but didn't Commish Gordon in a season 2 episode even say something about Batman wearing a purple cowl? I am still working my way through the blurays but could swear that was on the final disc of season two

Re: ST:TOS--Sort of chartreuse actually, with charcoal trousers. And the discussion thereof is nearly identical to the one we've had here about Batman66.

I didn't start this thread to argue about what color it is. I started it because I thought it was cool to have them displayed somewhere!

Well, it's a very cool display and I'm glad you shared it with us--you know we eat up stuff like that here, I always enjoy seeing props & costumes. The Superman exhibit in Cleveland is great, too.

Batman wore a purple cowl and gloves in the 1966 series!!!
I told you so years ago and was shunned by the community as a court jester style fool. Well, I was right, and here is the proof. An actual '66 Batman costume with purple cowl and gloves.
Everything made from the tv series should have a purple cowl. Please repaint all your customs and FTC needs to correct their paint applications in the future.
I tried to tell everybody, but nobody believed me.

                          P.S. I told you so!
However, it seems to me that in your second post you emphatically steered the discussion in the direction it went, effectively derailing your own thread. It's still neat to see such a collection, and the discussion has been spirited and informative. I don't think anyone intends personal rancor here--I certainly didn't, though I may have seemed curt. For that, I apologize.

I agree, the exhibit looks great, and it's unfortunate that that got lost in the thread. Wish I could see it up close.

i watched the Batman TV show movie last night, here is what I saw when I examined up close shots of
Batman. The cowl which I assume was custom stitched to properly fit Adam West's head, the cowl had
a purplish tint on the top/sides and back, the front looked like a midnight blue color as did the ears, the eyebrows
and nose had a powder blue outline, his gloves also had that purplish tint on the top part and the inside of the
cape had it as well, I never really got a very close look at the boots but they looked all one color same as the
front piece of the mask. You also have to take in consideration the set lighting during filming, but with today's
improving film and video technology, I believe the above comments are correct.
