Saw this over at Back Issue and IMHO it's just Marvel trying to sell more books. I really do think that both companies have shot themselves in the foot. I know that what both DC and Marvel are doing right now in terms of these EVENTS, DC with the end of the old universe or all the universes converging and Marvel revisiting Secret Wars yet again, is a HUGE jumping off point for any older collectors/readers. Both companies have nothing else if they go forward with these ideas, and it looks like both are going to go through with these ridiculous EVENT books. It's them trying to hip, new and edgy. It's a sad state for the comic industry right now. It will probably sell a million plus copies to all the "Investors" thinking if they buy it and put it away for 5 or 10 years it will be worth some $$$. How'd the Death Of Superman work out for all of those investors??!!?? I know I am done with new books as a reader/collector."When not too many people can see we're all the same
And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see
The beauty that surrounds them
Isn't it a pity".

I haven't read many X-Men in awhile and this shocked me. My question is: Maby when The Beast went back in time to get the team he actually went to another multiverse and pulled this group into the future.Visit my wiki site:

It's just more PC Bull$#%T!It's finally apparent to me Marvel(or DC)don't give a crap about the older fans. One Writer even bragged "were going to tare down childhoods." Why? They want to get new fans and get rid of the old? Well, It's working! I might read just the Secret Wars title(1 through 8?)to see what the plan is. If I'm not happy with the end result...I WILL cancel all my Marvel books! Even Spiderman which I've bee buying since I was 5(I'm 50 now).
I guess Marvel really doesn't care about the old fans...they just want to younger readers. It's sad for us old-timers.sigpicComment

They're not trying to appeal to investors... that notion is hilarious-----it's not the 1990's anymore... print is really dead as disco.
They can get a good chunk of publicity though, with these silly "event" issues. Printing costs are low as ever---but publicity is priceless. Great trade for DC/Marvel in print comicbooks:
Exposure while they crash and burn."No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris MannixComment

I kinda liked it when, my heroes fought bad guys and saved the day....not who was going to suck their anything later that night.....I don't want to know what a cartoon characters sexuality is.....and I'm not anti anyone, before anyone gets anything twisted.Last edited by kingdom warrior; Apr 23, '15, 11:24 AM.Comment

Don't know if anyone has liked Back Issue on Facebook but here is a little article that was posted by one of it's likers (Word?) :
http://www.bleedingcool.com/2015/04/...tailer-speaks/
Just is one more nail in the big 2's hold on the comic book industry. They can't even keep their older collectors interested because they've done it once again to the older readers and collectors. Jumping off point for a lot of older readers...this thing Marvel is doing will be one more nail in the coffin. Only thing Marvel really has left is to rely on the older story lines to convert into billion dollar movies. How IRONIC is that."When not too many people can see we're all the same
And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see
The beauty that surrounds them
Isn't it a pity".
