This detracts so much from who these characters really are! Maybe I'm too old (38) and there's a generation break between me and the younger people who read comics? These are just weird. I love the tradition of right and goodness that these characters stand for. It's reflected in their traditional clothing. I don't mind minor tweaks and changes, they help keep things interesting but this is just a bridge too far. I don't even know if my idea is coming across in this post.

Is the point of this to make Jim Lee's Nu52 stuff not look as crappy as it did?

Look how it's got us talking. Any publicity is good publicity, right? And then, when they decide to put them back in their "regular" costumes, they can make a big hoopla again and get a sales peak.

It's really a shame that DC can't take these characters and tell compelling stories with them without caving to the lowest common denominator. For years, DC stayed relatively true to the root of their characters, and waited for styles and trends to change, so they would be "hot" again. Now it all seems so artificial and forced. It comes across as acts of desperation, really, not natural progressions of the characters' growth and changing tastes.

I can't explain Batman. That seems like a PR tactic, as Hedji is saying.

Superman is a total marketing gimmick. He looks like he's wearing the Suoerman Under Armour shirt which is pretty common.

I actually like Wonder Woman. Too many unnecessary armor bits, but they're at least making her attire more empowering than burlesque.

And the new DC pricepoint - 4.99. It's the same game that started in the 80's when price became unpegged to the rate of inflation. Less buyers, higher prices. Which is an imploding model.

I find it quite ironic that this NEW crap that DC has come out the day one of the "old guard" has passed away.
"When not too many people can see we're all the same
And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see
                The beauty that surrounds them
                Isn't it a pity".

None of this can actually be real can it? With the B vs S next year, can they possibly be showing them looking like a Planet Fitness roid freak wearing a Supes T-shirt and Chappie? The WW suit is great I think, but the others are just a head scratcher and simply affirmation I made the right call to stop buying anything from them three years ago.

They need a lowcost newsprint line. I already wont buy magazines at todays prices.

I'm content with my silver and bronze age digitals and the occasional dogear find. I'm afraid sometimes I'll miss something good but when I do take a peep, I just see junk and wonder whats going on with DC, and sometimes Marvel.

I have to wonder if some new "suit" at Warner is just sabotaging the characters on purpose???

The Flash and Green Arrow aren't horrible. The Flash looks like it's trying to borrow a bit from the TV version, and GA looks like a variation of some of the costumes he's worn of the last several years.

The Wonder Woman suit itself isn't bad either, other than the ridiculous blades she's popping out of her bracelets. Batman and Superman are just horriffically stupid.
