DC Debuts terrible new costumes for Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman

If you thought New 52 was bad, wait until you see these. Batman is some kind of giant robot, Superman is the Punisher, and Wonder Woman is Wolverine.

    This is just terrible.

It's beyond terrible. I really feel sorry for you DC guys. It's like they have absolutely no idea who these characters are anymore.

My modern DC comic purchases are basically nil at this point so it just doesn't matter anymore...

You know, if everyone who complained about these changes would just quit buying the books, they'd eventually stop. I think many of us here have. But I hear folks gripe about these types of things, but they are still saying yes with their dollars.

I buy Batman '66 myself, and my daughter gets Scooby-Doo Team-Up and occasionally the regular Scooby book. That's all the DC we buy nowadays.

I'm sure this is just another ridiculous stunt, but who can tell anymore if they want to effect legitimate change, or just goose enough angry, or curious, fanboys into biting?

So DC really is trying to turn Bruce Wayne into Tony Stark... All of this is just bizarre. Look for new toys at a dealer near you. That's about the only thing that explains this bizarre turn of events. Let's pray these changes don't find their way into the upcoming movie. Comics have a way of mimicking their theatrical counterparts.

The goal of stunts like this are not to make a good product. The goal is to create controversey and blog headlines. Whether that leads to sales is another conversation. But I just cannot fathom how any artist could finish a drawing of Superman like that, sit back in the draft table chair, and say, "Day-um!!! I nailed that!"

It's because they don't respect the source material. Take for instance my recent painting of Baron Blood. I didn't try to reinvent the wheel. Byrne nailed it the first time, and I don't believe for a second I could improve on it. The egos of some of these artists are totally out of control.

^In their defense, I'm sure that many of these artists are being directed to make these types of changes. They couldn't get a traditional looking Superman in a book if they tried.

The REAL Superman does show up in a very cute issue of Scooby-Doo Team-Up, which is out now. Sad that that is the ONLY place you can currently find him on the stands.

I jumped off regular weekly stops at the comic store about 2 years ago. Picking up a few new titles that have already either been canceled or ran their course (IDW Thunder Agents and a few others) Now, with this JUNK that DC and Marvel are putting out I really can say "GOOD RIDDANCE" to new comics. Funny thing is I just attended a comic show this past weekend in NYC. While there I went over to Midtown Comics and picked up the Dynamite King Features books Mandrake The Magician, Flash Gordon, and Prince Valiant. That basically is the only new stuff I get. I will always pick up ANYTHING by George Perez and Jim Starlin...so that is basically Hulk Vs. Thanos and Sirens. Sirens I just noticed is a limited series. So even better that both majors have basically blown it with the older collectors...less money out of my pocket on new crap and more for back issues and original art
"When not too many people can see we're all the same
And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see
                      The beauty that surrounds them
                      Isn't it a pity".

                              He's a bunny Gundam...so he's a Bundam.

I've heard nothing but good things about the Snyder/Capullo Batman, but I just can't get into it. Between this and the immortal Joker, I don't think I'm going to bother.
