A couple of things...first of all, there will be no toys. Marvel put the mandate out several months ago that there will be no merchandise tied to this film, just like the last two X-Men films. They are not giving Fox an inch. Second, the comic will be on hiatus to coincide with the release of the film. Marvel has made their disdain for this entire venture VERY clear from the start. The only place FF will be visible is in the theater, and hopefully it will soon be forgotten.
I see this movie ending up in the five dollar DVD bin at Wal-Mart in less than a year.

Looks like it was made for TV not for the big screen. It's like the Fantastic 4 merged with the Teen Titans...

The first Ghost Rider was awesome. The second one was okay...gets better with repeated viewings.

^^^ There's something about the Carpenters and a fiery skull that left me doing some head scratching. Did like the cycle in the first one though. The second one was abysmal even in the design department. But I think what left me cold from the get go was the cast. Nicholas Cage as Johnny Blaze is as convincing as Michael Jordan as Johnny Storm. It just leaves me wondering if the person in charge of casting has any knowledge of the character.

I'll take your word on that, once was enough for me. I got lots of "you like that?" movies under my belt, so I'll go back to my glass house.

No interest in this at all. Not feeling this reboot from everything I've seen or heard.

I have no faith that this movie will be any better than the two earlier films. An easy pass for me.

But... but... Just listen to that AWESOME serious piano music!!!

Is it okay to like movies but hate movie trailers? Honestly, Hollywood ought to get over itself with the deep narration and serious piano music to raise the level of epic. This looks about as fun as Amazing Spider-man 2. Remember how compelling those Parker Family storylines were?

If I had the opportunity to make a FF movie, I would not hire a concept art department. I would get my production designer to use Kirby's artwork as reference. Bold lines, garish colors, Kirby energy dots, the works. Nothing like it has been seen on screen before.

Oh, and for the record, I did enjoy Ghost Rider.

I'd love for Marvel Studios to get the rights and just go nuts with an FF movie set in the early 60s, full-on gonzo Kirby-style. Have them and Doom get involved in some time-travel snafu, and BAM they show up in another modern Marvel movie. It's a bit like Captain America, but it would keep the FF's place in the comic MU intact.

^ GREAT way to achieve it, Chris, yes.

On one hand, the tone surprises me. I thought studios would listen to all the audience dollars who voted for more fun in their comic movies with Guardians of the Galaxy.

On the other hand, it's hardly shocking that they tried to go the other way from the previous FF movies.

The pendulum has swung the other way, and still, the FF we all love is nowhere to be found.

I know the last two films weren't fan favourites but at least they got Johnny and Ben right.
