More or less the same. Though laser guns have been replaced with rotary guns and missile launchers. And the final battle between Cap and Winter Soldier got brutal. I found myself cringing at some of the blows.

The fighting is more physical and realistic with blood from gun shots, explosions, hand to hand combat and car crashes. Chances are it would be OK but the the violence appeared more realistic to me than the Avengers bc weapons fire doesn't just bounce off these characters like it does Hulk, IronMan, Thor and the Aliens.

By no means is the movie excessively bloody, but there is action-based violence that has consequences as well as comic-book violence.

Thanks guys. Dani has seen the first film and loves it. I may be skirting the edges with this one, but I think I may take a chance on it with her.

I will say, since she's seen the first one and The Avengers, she'll probably be okay with this one.

I went with a group dressed as Cap related characters, Since Cap was already spoken for, I came as Iron Fist. Eleanor came as Wasp and Lillian was Viper. No non comic fans knew who we were.
That's kind of surprising about them not knowing Iron Fist. You'd think they would know from the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon.

Cap is outdoing Thor's sequel as far as opening weekend's go.

Cap's doing gangbusters! It's already made back their budget and then some.

It's a really strong number, especially when you consider it topped Fast & Furious 7 which is technically an April release, but released at the end of the month so it's a more traditional May summer-start movie.

Keep in mind marketing costs are now equal to production costs. So double the number, then split the box office receipts 55studio/45theater, every week. So as long as each film gets above 400 million in worldwide totals, Marvel is good as that guarantees all theatrical costs were recouped which turns the other streams into profit margins. Winter Soldier will get there pretty handily. It should get close to 700. International business just exploded for it, which is the opposite of the first one.

I guess toy sales plunged for Hasbro on Marvel merch. I was surprised to read that. IIRC, they really paid out the nose on that deal.

That doesn't surprise me...they have way too many different lines going on at the same time. There are three different Avengers lines on the pegs right now, all at different price points in different styles with different articulation. Same with Spider-Man. My area never even saw Thor 2 toys because Thor 1 toys were still clogging the aisles. I'm still waiting for a definitive Marvel toyline like DCUC.
