I think if you liked the first Superman movie then the casting is not going to be a problem. It's going to be more of that either way.

I don't have a problem with the casting of Jesse Eisenberg as Lex, or Jeremy Irons as Alfred...I think they're both solid choices.

In the few movies I've seen Eisenberg in, I've found him to be an annoying little fast talker. I don't see him as Luthor at all, and also, Luthor?? Again?? The kind of guy I wouldn't mind seeing get punched in the face by Batman. Love Irons for Alfred, tho.

I think it's brilliant. I've decided to give up caring about casting and story updates and visits to the set or any of that. I'm going to start just going to the movies having only seen a few trailers and with as little information on the movie as possible. After I've seen it, I'll look back at how they made it.
In this case, the casting news of these guys was unavoidable. People texting me for my opinions and my facebook overwhelmed. So I decided, yeah, if that many people hate this news then its likely the best choice. So it's brilliant. Both actors have incredible talent so I'm looking forward to see what they do.

Ultimately it's all going to rest on the treatment, so I'm just going to withhold any sweeping judgement until I see it. But I will say this...Snyder better have a very specific vision and idea of what he's doing with this cast. Because the way it's structured, it will either be an epic classic or an utter failure. With this cast, I can't see anything coming out marginal.

I HATED the first Superman movie there isn't anything at all I can say I liked about it well maybe one thing it ended. With Ben afflack as Batman I am not going to be able to see anything but Daredevil but even at that I was still willing to go and see it but with Jesse Eisenberg (and I thought he was great in Zombieland they should do a part 2) I will be looking for him to spout out the rules and there number as to how to defeat Superman LOL I think when this comes out I will just stay at home and watch the real Superman movies (Christopher Reeve) including part 3 as I think its better then the MOS.

All I remember is how many people hated... HATED the idea of Mr Mom being Batman. Now he's looked at with the rose colored glasses of nostalgia as "The" Batman.

I'll await the movie to make my judgement.

Superman Returns sounded great on paper, and then BOOM it was horrid.
