Since the huge sales spike DC experienced launching the New 52, DC and Marvel are now falling over themselves to put new #1's on as many comics as they can. If sales slump or dip on a title, a new #1.

Mark Waid is apparently staying on Daredevil and it's getting a new #1 to try and boost sales.

I'm not even sure they are keeping legacy numbering anymore. Although I'm sure it's only a matter of time before they decide to take advantage of a sales spike with an issue #700 or #800.

I think Ultimate Spider-Man is getting an issue #200 soon?

I gotta hope they either calm down with the numbering, reboots and restarts or that I can wrap my head around the fact that all titles appear to be nothing but mini/maxi series.

Switch it up like TV. Season 1 Episode 1. Season 2 Episode 1. New #1, every year.

I liked how Kirkman disagreed with this trend of new #1's all the time when he was asked if Invincible was going to relaunch.

Ahh well. I must be part of the problem cause a lot of the Marvel books I am picking up to replace the disappointing New 52 books are indeed #1 issues.

It was there intention to stop Jim's run at nine books...so that was planned.

At least Marvel has a strategy of spreading out the launches of all their #1's... rather than all at once.

Which is only slightly longer term thinking than DC at this point, who seem to try get that "Spike" in concentrated bursts... although I guess you can't blame them if they are rewarded with sales by putting 3D covers on all their books that month. We're going to see a lot more of that gimmick marketing moving forward I think.

Whether folks like the whole Superior Spiderman run or not, you have to give them credit for looking far enough ahead to know that there would be a brand new Amazing Spider-Man #1 to coincide with the launch of the latest film this summer.

so it was a vanity project. Funny, in the solicits it never said 1 of 9 or anything like that. I guess DC has no confidence in another Superman title without a name artist on it.

John Romita Jr. Is supposed to be set for a new Superman title some time this year, possibly May after unchained ends, maybe later.

I cant believe thay would cancel Nightwing. I will deffinately vote with my dollar. Instead of rebooting the character, how about a decent story line. Maybe they want to change his costume colors again...
