Why don't I get excited about these kind of announcements? I love superheroes, but I think I'm too much of a nostalgia purist. It's my own fault, I guess, but I want colorful tights and a tone that appeals to my 7 year old sensibilities. I just can't imagine a child of 7 or 8 getting excited about a show like Agents of SHIELD.

Anything would be a vast improvement over the current lame Agents of Shield.

I've discovered a bunch of TV shows that I had never watched, thanks to Netflix, including some cool British ones. And plenty of stuff for the kids to watch too. Eight bucks a month is a steal, I can't believe it took me so long to get on board. Unfortunately the Canadian version is really lacking compared to the US Netflix, luckily there are ways around that, so it's not a problem for me.
        Exacto mundo.

Had it for a few years now and loving it.
$8 is a steal and if it was up to me I would drop cable in an instant.
Really looking forward to these new shows.

^I live out in the sticks, so no DSL. I have to use a Verizon MiFi unit to get my internet (it's either that, or back to Dial-Up hell). Not anyone's problem but mine, but I was just curious how many Gs it takes to enjoy Netflix freely, on average. I know it's going to vary, I just want a ballpark figure.

Man, that sucks, I thought we had it bad up here in Canada with the bandwidth caps. Here's how Netflix breaks it down, they have three different settings at which you can set your streaming quality:

Low (basic video quality) is up to 0.3 GB per hour of streaming
Medium (standard video quality) is up to 0.7 GB per hour of streaming
High (HD video quality) is up to 3 GB per hour of streaming

So at the lowest quality setting, you would burn through 5 GB in less than 17 hours of Netflix programming per month.

^Thanks cjefferys. That gives me a good idea of how many Gs I'm going to burn through.

Netflix offers an incredible platform for the kind of rich storytelling.
