    This is a disaster.

Just listen to his voice. It didn't even work for DD, and he didn't have a legacy to live up to!

Keaton, Kevin Conroy, Bale...these guys have established the kind of vocals that fit the suit. That's what Bale understood; you cannot just add a little bass and say "I'm Batman".

With Affleck, it's not possible because he's going to sound like Affleck in a mask. Unless they do something drastic, like use a vox distorter and claim it's built into the suit. Otherwise, it's going to pull people out of the movie every time he hits an Affleck tone.

Batman with a sinus issue. Amazing. WB are such wussies.

Gawd, please keep these people away from Wonder Woman.

We are going the Clooney/Kilmer route again, sigh.

When I see the new Batman on the big screen, I'm going to be thinking Ben Affleck, not Batman.

Affleck is too famous now...they should've cast a newcomer...or someone less known...like Wes Bentley.

Jesus, Affleck already played Daredevil. Aren't there enough actors to go around anymore?

Don't get me wrong, I used to hate Affleck, especially his J-Lo phase...Benifer...that was god-awful...but he has vastly improved since then...he's now a solid good actor, and even better director...I just don't see him as Batman...perhaps I'll be proven wrong...hopefully he can pull it off...he does have that chiseled chin...and he is tall...perhaps too tall...the dude is 6' 4"...Henry Cavill is 6' 1"...Batman is gonna TOWER over Superman...please Hollywood...please do your magic...

Although I do like the idea of Batman being older...he could mentor the younger and more inexperienced Superman.

When you really think about it, just about all Batman actors were kinda lousy actors starting with Adam West and ending with Bale (so far)

As far as I am concerned, the Superman was awful so I really had no hopes for Superman/Batman anyways.

I'll actually watch the movie before casting judgement. Tearing something/someone apart before even seeing anything is pure "nerd rage" IMO. Now if it comes out and he's horrible that's it's fair game.

You know, I'm no longer speechless. The casting is still "WHAT?!?"...that's my honest reaction, so there it is. BUT, Affleck isn't a bad actor. He just chose a lot of bad roles for about 10 years. I haven't seen Argo, but I did see him in Hollywoodland, where he played George Reeves...and he was quite good. So there is hope. It's ultimately up to the script, direction and general feel of the film, which we honestly had no idea about.

But it's still an unconventional choice, and is going to elicit a lot of "HUH?" which is one thing WB wants for sure. Remember how people doubted Heath Ledger as the Joker? "That pretty boy?"

As Hedrap and Hector have said so well, Afflect's paparazzi face and voice will bleed right through any mask or performance he offers (just like Clooney did). What's worse, if they try and put him in the same outfit Bale wore, it will immediately read like a karaoke performance, especially...ESPECIALLY... if he tries to mimic Bale's Batman voice. There will be one universal reaction...

I don't really get the negative reaction. It's not like they cast Chris Kattan.
