Affleck and acting chops in the same sentence. Wow.
I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.

For some odd reason I don't have an issue with this. I think he's come a long way since Daredevil. Plus he can't be any worse than Kilmer or Clooney.
I'm hoping he brings something different to the role as I've grown tired of the Bale growl...

agree about Bale but it's not a high bar to say he won't be as bad as Kilmer and Clooney, by that standard It like saying Superman returns well it wasn't as bad as Superman 4

It's an odd choice for sure, but it has an extremely large upside if it works. He literally could turn in the best Batman performance ever. I haven't seen him in anything for a while so I cannot comment on his acting skills. I saw bits of Hollywoodland that made me think he'd turned a corner but who knows? This announcement is going to shut down some geek/comic sites servers tonight...

                  Hmmmm....

Batman is all plot. It doesn't matter who's in there. Need to show who Bruce Wayne is; have him take a dip in the fountain with some supermodels. Need to show what an unstoppable instrument of destruction Batman is? Have him destroy a small legion of thugs, no matter how immobile the suit or how few moves the actor has.

It's more troubling to me that you're seeing actors double up on superhero roles. WAY more intellectual inbreeeding for the films. I'd prefer an unknown; but that's not gonna happen. They're buying the name, and like I said, you can slap almost anyone into the costume.

As long as they use the Rubber suit, EVERYONE is Michael Keaton........wanna impress me, give me a Neal Adams style Batman, then I'm sold.... otherwise it's just another guy in a rubber suit.

^ I agree with you regarding wardrobe.

And Affleck is underrated imo--I liked both Hollywoodland & the Director's Cut of DD a lot.

Agree with y'all on the part. Need to be calm and aloof as an older Batman and a smug ****** bag for Wayne. And maybe some anger. That's not too challenging. He has the chin for the mask/helmet.

Affleck's a better screen writer and director than actor. I hope he gets some input on the story and script, but Who knows.

I'd love to see an Adams-like Batman, even in animation, but I'd be really surprised if it wasn't a rubber suit.

Gone Baby Gone, which Affleck directed, is an excellent film. Town is better than average and Argo is very good, too. He directed and starred in the latter two.

And Jennifer Garner can be Wonder Woman!... Jeez. How unoriginal. Well if anyone thought Man of Steel was "light" on the script, things are about to get even daffier.
