    Kick Arse 2

I loved the first one, and cannot wait for the sequel.

Teen heroes in violent R-rated superhero flick, lots of violence...but with great humor as well.

Definitely not a PC or kid-friendly movie, lol.

The only bad apple has been Jim Carrey, he's not supporting the film due to its violence.

    I'm like, "what the hell"?

Excuse me Mr Carrey, but didn't you see the first movie? Didn't you read the script?

Carrey's argument is that after doing the movie, the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting happened, and that he had a change of heart.

What about the other countless shootings that happened before? Gabby Giffords and the Aurora shootings come to mind. Those don't count? Why be in a Kick Arse movie in the first place then?

Carrey's attitude is a slap in the face to not only the movie studio who paid him (he's risking being blacklisted), the director, producers, but it's also not fair to his co-stars.

If Carrey is really regretful and appalled from being in this movie, he should make a public apology, and donate his entire Kick Arse paycheck to the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting, if he doesn't, then he's a damn hypocrite.

    Article on the matter...

Ok, enough of that, I'm so ready for Kick Arse 2...

An actor can't be thinking that way, acting is all about make-believe and pretend.

If we go by Carrey's current train of thought, then he did a disservice to fighter fighters and burn victims all over the world with his Living Color portrayal of Fire Marshall Bill.

Carrey's making the standard Hollywood "I'm more socially/politically aware and caring than others" statement for the "look at me" effect. If he (and a lot of other celebs) REALLY wanted to have an effect and REALLY meant what they announce like thise they'd be living in far more mosest homes in far more modest lifestyles and donating their vast millions to actually do some good, not maintain living standards third-world dictators aspire to.

....or a great publicity stunt; either for the film or himself.

The stunt failed, it came only in third place, way below expectations, behind The Butler and We Are The Millers.

Carey's performance is actually very effective, and while the movie is violent, it didn't seem as violent as the first one. Loved the shark tank like in Batman No. 251.

              Hmmmm....

I thought the first one was okay, right until the end. The second seems to continue the problem; that is, why is it not called "Hit Girl?"

After seeing "Super" I was kinda soured on Kick ***; it seems watered down now.

Super has more of an indie feel to it...Kick Arse is the more traditional Hollywood flick of the two.

I prefer Kick Arse, it's just a more fun movie to watch over and over again...Super was a one viewing experience for me...killing a major likeable female character was a huge mistake in my opinion, that took the repeated "fun" factor away.

It might sound weird; but it was things like that which made me like it. I'm kinda tired of safe, sanitzed everything. I WANT things that are a REAL challenge. I want surprises. I want to NOT know how a movie ends 10 minutes in. I'm okay with things I don't like being in a movie. Sometimes that's the point. Sometimes you NEED that for the sake of the overall story.

Related to that; I didn't find Boltie that likable. She was a psycho. Kinda like you'd expect someone like Hit-Girl; raised almost from birth for combat, to be. But yeah; the more "Hollywood" films would never do that, make an unlikable main character. (OR villain, or goon.... thank you focus groups....) 'Course, the more "Hollywood" stuff would have the hero win, just 'cos.... like what killed the first Kick-*** for me. (So.... Hit Girl kills like, EVERY MOBSTER IN THE CITY.... even the guy with the rocket launcer.... but has to be saved from the middle aged desk jockey.... by the guy who's SUCKED throughout the entire film.... *sigh*)

Nah, Kick Arse is an awesome movie, I'm gonna get the Blue-ray.

You have fun watching the dreary Super again, I thought the lead was just a creepy weirdo.

The lead in Kick Arse was a lovable goof, I prefer him by a mile.

BTW, Ellen Page was by far the best part of Super, yet you hated her, come on bro.

That middle aged desk jockey was Frank D'Amico, played by Mark Strong, he was no pushover, he was a deadly martial artist and the main "super villain", you are underestimating him to win your argument, but he was a baddarse himself.

BTW, you shouldn't diss Mark Strong, he might be your new Lex Luthor in the Superman sequel.

Now that I think about it, kinda funny you dismiss him as a middle aged man.

It's safe to say that most middle aged men will defeat most 13 year old girls in a fistfight, lol.

And the reason I said "most" and not "all", is because it could be a 13 year old girl with a fourth degree black belt, and the middle aged man could be paralyzed from the neck down...in that case, the girl wins, lol.

Hec, the movie was again fun, but it lacked that exciting finale from the original, with HITGIRL laying the smack down. I did become infatuated with the new "Night Be awch" character. Yow!!! Hit girl just looks odd all growd up. I'm gonna go see it again this week with my son, he is irritated with me for not waiting to see it with him. Hey I dont mind goping back.
