Y'know, I was just watching Taken again, and it occurred to me, how about going off the expecations board with Liam Neeson? He's a good actor and convincing in action roles, and there's something about himm that reminds me of Bale -- how about if in Superman vs. Batman we see Batman as older, coming out of the retirement he put himself in at the end of Dark Knight Rises to handle some case that puts him at cross purposes with the Daily Planet's newest investigative reporter? Something a little different, maybe . . .

The problems with that suggestion would be: (1) he was already Ra's al Ghul in the Nolan films, and (2) he *really* cannot do an American accent.

No, executives want someone around Cavil's age, they want to milk this bad boy....and the general non comic book public will not agree with a old arse Batman, plus fanboy geek nerds will biotch non stop about why they just didn't get Bale....and I sure as hell don't want a year of crying fanboys on forums.....waaaaaaahhhhh they fooked up Batman waaaaaaahhhhh....lol

Exactly.

Again, what they want is an actor who matches up both in age and physicality to Cavill...that's the whole point.

And that's the route they are taking...the casting process is bringing in an actor who clicks with Cavill...Cavill is actually the key here...he's the established Superman on screen already...the new Batman must match up with him.

I heard differently. If you're right, and they DON"T want an older Batman, then indeed, naming older actors is pointless.

Actually, I think I see what happened here. People heard that execs want a "Dark Knight Returns" feel and so people are jumping to the conclusion that the execs want to cast an older Batman (?) Well, yeah, if there's no actual source, then I'd agree that's the wrong conclusion to jump to.

I'm with Nolan on Wes Bentley, he'd be perfect as Batman to Cavill's Superman, I hope they go that route.

If they go with Jake Gyllenhaal, that means Batman and the Joker met in a previous movie, Brokeback Mountain.

Scott Adkins is said to be the possible Batman stunt double or fight choreographer, that would make sense, but clearly not as a lead actor, because the guy is really not a good actor at all (he's a martial artist first and foremost), but he would definitely kick everyone's arses in real life for sure, lol.
