Apparently Spartacus actor Liam McIntyre is tweeting his campaign for the role...
I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

Liam McIntyre walks funny...he has knock-knees, that was one of the issues Spartacus fans had with him when he replaced the late Andy Whitfield (who ironically would've made a great Batman himself).

To me John Hamm from Mad Men screams Bruce Wayne and he's 6'2 so he's the perfect height.

I like Bentley and Hamm as options.

                        Hamm could work as well.

it has to be someone in their mid to late 20's. the idea will be both of them early in their roles as superheroes. I actually think a less known or completely unknown would be the best way to go.

I know this is a against the modern norm of too young characters in EVERYTHING these days but I think an older Batman would be better --- like mid 40's

The guy (the character) should have some history behind him.

A young Batman would make me think he's a rich nerd geek ---- an old Batman would make me think he's a tad psycho (which is what Batman should be)

I guess I'm all alone out here in the wilderness when it comes to suggesting Anson Mount from "Hell On Wheels", but just take a look at the dude...
                              anson_mount.jpganson-mount_326233.jpghell-on-wheels-amc.jpgactor-212961-231831-anson_mount.jpg
He's certainly got the intensity to play "The Batman" (as opposed to just "Batman"), plus he's got the physique to pull off he role without the addition of a bunch of rubber/leather, he can do suave and debonair for Bruce Wayne and---not to sound biased against the Brits----he's AMERICAN! I'd LOVE to see an American playing an American superhero instead of another British actor!!!
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

CHris, that's a nice and fine choice, but he's too old. Remember, folks the actor chosen for this role is likely going to be locked down to a minimum of three films dragged out over the course of a decade. It's going to be a difficult casting job. Bale was cool as a relative unknown, but he wasn't being asked to do a lot. Act smarmy as Bruce, talk like cookie monster as Bats. Nothing to it based on Nolan's version of Batman.

Now, the Batman we all know and mostly love is known as the World's Greatest Detective. WTH did Bale's Batman ever detect? What cunning and intellect did he ever have to show aside from sneaky ninja skills and weapon tech? Whoever this new actor is will have to be suave and nuanced but also have a commanding presence and controlled intensity. Yeah, good luck with that...Should be interesting.
