Wonder if it will be an original script or based on an existing storyline?

Yep. DC finally seems to be getting it together. More hits like MOS, less garbage like GL, and we'll finally be where we should have been years ago.
Looking for Green Arrow accessories, Doctor Who Sonic Screwdriver, and Japanese Popy Megos (Battle Cossack and France, Battle of the Planets, Kamen Rider, Ultraman) and World Heroes figures

I don't know what you mean by "screwing" it up...as I love both the Dark Knight and Man of Steel movies....since this move us going to occur in the Man of Steel sequel...

Batman and Superman will unite for a sequel to Warner Bros.' "Man of Steel," paving the way for a "Justice League" movie, the studio announced at Comic-Con on Saturday. The news was leaked just before the panel began, but that didn't temper fans' rapturous reaction to what would be the first time the superheroes were united on screen.

If you think it's going to be like the cartoon Superfriends, you better get your hankies ready, because you'll be crying rivers of tears, lol.

For those who like it dark, this is going to rule.

For those who want it cheery and colorful, prepare to be disappointed again, lol.

I myself, can't wait either way, seeing a live version of Batman and Superman together for the first time in the big silver, is enough for me to die a very happy man, lol.

This is awesome! I read that it was rumored that the sequel might be a Batman/Superman crossover, but to actually have it confirmed is beyond fantastic!

^ Yeah, what he said. DC has screwed around and squandered time for too long regarding their movie universe. The GL movie didn't do why they expected and lackluster box office performance of other properties of theirs like Jonah Hex and Watchmen has left them gun shy. It took Marvel's Avengers to kick them in the butt and now finally they're getting their crap together. I just hope it's not too late.

I'm looking forward to more franchise building with the Flash and JLA movies and DC personnel at SDCC also hinted at an Aquaman movie too.

This was the natural progression that was necessary to grow the DC cinematic universe. I know some wanted a full JLA movie, but you cannot make that without first establishing at least two of the big four on-screen. I don't know how they go with this as a sequel, though unless the call it Man of Steel: World's Finest. I guess that's pretty cool. The logo is terrific as well. Now they have to make the HUGE decision of casting Batman. I say go with unknown actor. Established stars bring baggage with them and is the reason Reynolds failed as GL. You could only see him as the jerk from his previous films. With the hype this will get you could cast Jm J Bullock as Batman and it would still do well.

I'm just yapping, Anthony, don't pay attention to my silliness.

I'm just stoked beyond belief...seeing Bats and Supes together on a live action big budget film for the first time, is just epic to me, this is biblical to me, lol.

This was announced back in 2007 when Will Smith was in that two hour Ford Commercial, I Am Legend.

Six years later, they didn't even bother to change the logo!

It's just World's Finest. It's a MOS "sequel" in regards to Cavill, Snyder, Goyer, Adams, etc...contract continuity, since they have nothing in place with Bale.

They didn't announce Flash or JLA because they have nothing in place. Goyer and Snyder may have a larger vision as to where they want to go, but don't believe WB signed off on anything, yet. You actually have a chance of one of these guys not being involved with World's Finest before shooting begins, since the financing is not settled. It's not a huge chance, but it exists. All you need is a fight over who's playing Batman, and people will be shown the door.

Most of this is noise from the DC two man band of Dido and Johns. World's Finest will happen, and so will JLA, but it all hinges on what to do with Batman first and foremost, then Wonder Woman. Flash is a secondary concern.

From what I read this isn't necessarily a "sequel" to "Man of Steel", but instead I think it's supposed to be more of a bridging movie that re-introduces Batman and preps for an eventual JLA movie/franchise. A proper "Man of Steel" sequel may eventually happen, and this "World's Finest" movie may contain or address elements from "Man of Steel" but they're not necessarily one and the same.

Here's a fan poster from a few years ago. If I photoshopped this instead of "Don't Be Evil", my tagline would be "Don't Suck...please."

and it won't so long as we see some of this:

                              this:

                              this:

                              this:

and to make it truly legendary, this:
"Many Shubs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Sloar that day I can tell you."
