My earliest exposure was either storybook/records or coloring books of spiderman or superman because I always knew of those characters (from as far back as I can remember). I saw a picture once of a spiderman birthday cake of when I was 3 or something.

I remember looking at the pictures of the Sunday funnies to even though I couldnt read them. One of the strips was spiderman.

In '77-78 I got my exposure to Filmations The new adventures of Batman and Robin, Superfriends, and a few other superhero related cartoon characters. I was probably at least aware of The Adventures of Superman in syndication by that point although I think they showed them real early in the morning by that point. Tarzan movies came on every sunday on one channel. I think I finally saw Wonder Woman show in the early eighties.

By '79 I was reading (or doing my best to) DCs blue ribbon digest and a little while after that one of my aunts starting buying me those bags that had 5 or so comics in them.

I think I didnt see the Batman show till sometime in the mid eighties.

I received that very same book at about the same age!!! I spent hours reading through it and then reading and re-reading the box of comics my brother gave me. Still have both and I still peruse them from time to time when I really want to take a trip down memory lane...
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

For me it was the Superfriends cartoon, and also we got WGN from Chicago way down in Killen Alabama where I grew up and the Bozo show would play Adventures of Superman and Batman CPUs on his show and I though they were just marvelous. I didn't read comics till I was much older and my mom took me to a flea market and I bought a bunch of old ones.my folks bought me Megos at 2 and 3 years old. I still have pictures of me getting a mego batman at two years old with my dad. I never got over it.

It must have been Batman'66 and Filmation re-runs, followed closely by Superfirends. I didn't get comics regularly until around 1977, when I earned an allowance.

I loved the Bozo show. Cant remember what cartoons they showed on it in the early '80s but I always liked their toy prizes.

^^ George will always be my mental image of Supes, Chris Reeve doesn't even come close to what he did with the dual role and with such a limited budget.

I think every actor brings something to the role, and we have to stop comparing new portrayals to past ones.

I very much dislike the fanatical Christopher Reeve fans who won't let us move past those very dated films.

For the record, my favorite Superman is Dean Cain.

Love the Santos movies, something about a guy in a wrestling mask riding around in a polo shirt and white pants hunting down vampire women.
