well, its no surprise to readers of JSA, its been building to that for 6 months now. I really hope KC Supes survives this storyline. Its kind of cool having an older tougher Supes running around. You must try to generate happiness within yourself. If you aren't happy in one place, chances are you won't be happy anyplace. -Ernie BanksComment

I don't care for the new Ross design of the character....Think OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging!Comment

Given Ross and Waid's disagreement over Kingdom Come sequels and followups, it will be interesting to see how Ross' version will differ from Waid's.
I'm also wondering if Ross and Geoff Johns will attempt to reconcile the previous non-Waid Gog arcs...
I know Johns tends to like to address those kind of inconsistencies and smooth out continuity in that Roy Thomas kind of way.Comment

Ross is seriously a "Miss" with me lately on re-designing costumes for characters. I think he's done with it. Someone somewhere, needs to say to him "This Blows,... enough of the "shinny" crap"
I keep thinking Jim Lee,.. the last 2 costumes he re-designed , FireStorm & Powergirl,.. were just horrible compaired to the origional look of the characters.... The Original Knight ..., Often Imitated, However Never Duplicated. The 1st Knight in Customs.

I thought Lee's redesign of Kyle Rayner's costume was much closer to a "classic" GL look and way better than the "Crab Face" clunky gauntlet thing he had previously.
Although I don't think this one lasted very long at all before Rebirth came along.Comment

All he did here was take away the puffy sleeves...
And other than the stitching, it's not too much of a departure from her earliest appearances..
(I can't remember if it was Wally Wood that designed her original look)Comment

See, that Rayner suit looks Great.
If he's not Ion,.. how come they didn't go back to that suit ? As opposed to that new "look" they gave him ?... The Original Knight ..., Often Imitated, However Never Duplicated. The 1st Knight in Customs.

Jim Lee did alot with the FireStorm suit. Go look at the 2 FireStorm figures comming out in the DC Universe Classic Wave 2... Most Noticable are the sleves,.. the Side mask,.. thing& The emblem's on his chest. I think the Boots are different too. It's just crap.

Although I've never been that big a fan of Firestorm's costume in the first place.
I hate to admit it, and the costume is certainly nothing to write home about, but my favourite era of Firestorm was always the short lived "Fire Elemental" stuff when Ostrander was trying to ride some of Alan Moore's radical innovations.
A pretty terrible superhero look, but some wonderfully expressive Tom Mandrake artwork. I recall Richard Piers Rayner really made it work well in a creepy kind of fashion when Neil Gaiman borrowed the character for his Swamp Thing Annual starring Brother Power the Geek.Comment

Other than the boots, this looks even closer to the original costume! He's got the puffy sleeves back as well.
