Too many freakin' Robins to begin with...There should only be 3 (Grayson, Todd [and he should be dead] and Drake). Anything else is over-kill for a character (Batman) that's supposedly anti-social...

I have trouble with the whole concept of Damian. When I was growing up, Dick was already in Teen Titans. I never saw the youthful ward version. Then there was Jason, and his death. Then Tim, and I honestly don't remember how old he was but it didn't feel like ten. Now, after all that, Bruce is going to let his child tag along in the world that includes a psycho like Joker? I could never buy into that.

^^ See that part made the most sense, Bruce would want to raise him instead of letting Ra's and the League of Assassins do it.

I fell Morrison really damaged the Batman mythos in general. Making Talia a psycho (she wasn't before) cheapened the complex relationship between her, Batman and her father. Having their son be a psychotic killer was also the cheap way to go, and my previously stated problem of everyone just accepting this kid as Robin. It all smacked of "I'm Grant Morrison, I'll do whatever I bloody want" to me. Kind of like Frank Miller's magnum opus DK2.

I enjoyed some aspects of Morrison's earlier Batman run, such as the Club of Heroes storyline, but going out of his way to legitimize the sci-fi era of Batman just seemed like too much of a personal pet project to burden the standard comic line with. Now Batman is going to be a father who endangered his actual biological son and got him killed. Are there any heroic traits left in these characters?

Out of the four Robins he has had in the New 52 chronology half of them have gotten killed (even though Jason Todd did come back). 50%. Not a good track record, that's made even worse in the relatively short time of 10 years or whatever it is they're working off. Why would anyone else want the job now? LOL

I have no idea what you guys are talking about.
The last Batman comic I read was 15 years ago. Seems like I didn't miss anything.

At first I was anti Damian. As things went on, I found him interesting and engaging. He was so different from all the other Robins and I think I liked that. When he was teamed up with Grayson's Batman, I was always interested. They really should have been the future of Batman and Robin. They should have gone on for a few more years with it before bring Bruce back. I liked the chip on his shoulder and I also like how he grew as a person. He wasn't one dimensional. Batman and Robin Annual 1 that came out last month (?) made me flat out cry. It was that good. Again, I read all these comments or "chime ins" about how they didn't miss anything. I beg to differ. Read the comic and you will see what you missed. Maybe after reading you still might hate him and that's fine. But I'm actually broken up over Damian's death. He was a cool kid who had a short but amazing life. Thankfully he comes from a family with access to Lazuras Pits....so I don't know how permanent it all is.

Death in comics for deaths sake and shock value is stupid. Death is so broken in comics. The only way to fix it is to maybe not kill anyone for awhile. Then if they feel the need to off someone do it with meaning and impact. Make it last...hopefully forever. Barry Allen had such an important death that I feel they did him a disservice by bringing him back.

The silver lining might be a return of Tim Drake to the role. I like Tim. I feel his treatment in the New 52 has been poop at best. This from having tried to read the so called Teen Titans.

Anyway, RIP little Damian Wayne. You were a good soldier and I enjoyed your stories.

I will say this, Damian's costume grew on me somewhat. Under Quitely, I felt it was the most hideous costume ever conceived for a major comic hero. But under other artists, it started to look less thrown together in the dark.

I'm glad some folks enjoyed the character. I just couldn't get past his introduction. I'll have to give some of the later stuff a shot sometime.
