At least it's starting to look more like the comic book again. The raised webbing and pattern in the blue areas looks like a return to the Raimi look. I like the eyes. Definitely getting closer to that Romita look.

Nice to know that I don't even need to click on the link. We're a selfish lot, always yearning for the past, aren't we?"No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris MannixComment

Amazing (pun intended). Even though it's just a picture, I love it already.sigpic

Okay guys...you all know what a fan I am of Romita and the 1970's era stuff in general, BUT I'm gonna go on record here...
I absolutely LOVED the design from ASM once I saw it on screen.
Here's why...though different from the comics, it was still instantly recognizable as Spider-Man. I loved the materials they used. The colors were brighter, and the slightly loose fit, the way it bunched up and wrinkled at the seams...it actually LOOKED homemade, as it should. Even the athletic type soles made sense here. The dark lenses on the mask worked beautifully. They were sunglass lenses...exactly what Peter would have used, and I find the dark eyes much more bug-like and creepy...another thing Spider-Man should be.
I'm actually disappointed with this update. In my humble opinion, the ASM costume was the best live action version we've ever gotten. I'm going to miss it.Comment

I don't mind the costume but I really don't see Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson...
Just not buying it....Think OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging!Comment

I don't know this actress, but from that photo, I'd have to say she doesn't really fit the "Face it Tiger, you just hit the Jackpot" aspect of MJ. She looks like Tiffany, circa 1988, minus the makeup.
But I may be completely wrong, and she'll be quite attractive on film. Dunst actually looked the part in the first movie, but in 2 and 3, she took on a Kristin Stewart-like air of "I don't care" and it showed in her face.

I never found Dunst right for the part, very pretty girl but I've always thought MJ was supposed to be a total knock out.
As for this new girl, I'm getting old cause she looks like a baby.Places to find PlaidStallions online: https://linktr.ee/Plaidstallions

I think Dunst was miscast somewhat, but with makeup and a more positive attitude and portrayal, she worked as the character more in the first film than either sequel. The writers didn't do her any favors, making MJ seem like a flakey, self-centered whiner.
And yes, we are now creepy old men. This girl probably wasn't even born when most of us graduated high school...

I think it all depends on how she gets made up. It's amazing what they can do with a little makeup and eye shadow. But at least Sony has figured out the problem they had with the Spidey costume. They might actually sell movie figures again. Whether the last outfit worked for some or not, it definitely didn't translate into a likable looking action figure. It was a sloppy design for a toy and that's why they continue to warm the pegboards.Comment
