Amazing Spider-Man 2 adds another villain...the RHINO!
I'm excited for it. I really am. I enjoyed Amazing. It may not be my favorite movie of life but I had a good time watching it. If they tell a good story that is consistent with the world they created, I will be happy.
It's like X-Men First Class. It's 95% Comic book inaccurate but I could care less and it's my favorite X-Men movie. They told a good story.
Absolutely spot on.
I forgot about First Class. In modern day experience, it's rare when I actually enjoy a superhero movie without feeling like I was shortchanged somewhere. At the close of First Class, I felt invigorated.
A good story cinches it for me in spite of the "Mystique grew up with WHO?" kinda stuff.

Just reading these - I really can't see him as Rhino - at all. Great actor no doubt - but this role is not for him. I would have liked it if they went with someone larger like the Rock or Someone else with his size.
I'm all for discussion on some topics, but I think there is a point reached where discussion turns into debate, and we've reached it A LOT here lately. And such things aren't worth debating, honestly. I come here for fun, not to have every post I make picked apart by armchair psychologists.
Lighten up folks. It's something I need to remind myself from time to time as well, because I get bogged down in the mire as well. It's all funny books, cartoons, and such. Not worth losing sleep over. Hobbies are supposed to be FUN.
But, to me, "debating" and playing "armchair psychologist" IS fun... especially about superheroes et al.
Maybe I've been missing the point of the culture and expected behavior all these years at the Museum forums, but I thought as long as we had a mutual respectful dialogue (with mods and board majority ethics keeping all of us in check with risk of misbehavior), that anything went here in regard to discussion... including "debate".
I'd think no matter how amiable this place desires to be, it is (after all) an internet message board for toy nerds... some things about that are inherently controversial. I mean, come on.
^Man, I'd really like to go this weekend. Lots of family stuff going on, so I doubt it will happen. I'd love to meet her. Seems like a classy lady!
Chris
Yep! She's already in town and we had a brief get together last night. For her seminar I think she's going to cover more of her father's movies in the 60's (like Targets). She's kind of Frankenstein'd out. We can't blame her. Sweet lady and about as nice a person as you would ever want to meet.
Quick! They're casting some white non-Egyptian dude named Boris Karloff as The Mummy! There's going to be a smack down!
Boris Karloff is part of the Anglo-Indian heritage. He's ANYTHING but "white". Gosh Brian. You took the bait on that one!
BTW, I'll be having a wonderful time with his daughter in Louisville this weekend at Wonderfest. She is like extended family for us. Sarah is a sweet lady.
