Yeah, that's typically not Ross's color palette. He might have been trying to do something retro with that one.

Just found a single copy at indie comic shop. First print too. Didn't think I would score a copy but I asked the sales guy and he said it was out but then went behind the counter found a copy. Dumb luck. Just paid $3.50 and skimmed through it. Not holding my breath but it's great for nostalgia purposes.

Looks like I will have to wait till the 2nd print on this. My comic shop was sold out but if they did have any copies, I am sure they would have charged $20..00 for it.

I went and got myself a copy of Ebay for 13.50 including expedited shipping. I am anxious to reads this as it's the Star Wars I've always liked to read regardless of what ground has been covered before. Of course, I went pick up my usual books today and my regular guy had it! I assumed he'd be sold out. I bought an extra in the event the price keeps going up.

...the scripter did a poor job of capturing the voices of the main characters, IMO.
Agreed. Hopefully Wood will be able to capture the essence of the characters somewhat more successfully before they have to wrap it up and the rights go back to Marvel.

Before Ebay, you should check at Barnes & Noble or BAM, or any newsstand still around. They're usually about a week later in putting out the current issues, might find one there first.

Great nod to the old Marvel stuff.

I have had no luck finding this so I will just have to wait for the reprint to hit on Feb 6th.

I read it and liked it so far. I think it being issue #1 it's too early to critique how the characterizations are. I thought Leia and Han were done well and it's too early to say with Luke. I actually thought it was a nice touch having the one Rebel Guard complaining about Leia, because it adds something you don't see it Star Wars, how the rank and file act and in this case there's always someone disgruntled, even when the freedom of the universe is at stake!

I got my hands on the first one. I was thinking when you said death star blown up you meant the last movie. This takes place during Star Wars (the first time it was blown up) and the Empire Strikes Back. So you have a wimpy Luke Skywalker and for some reason Leia appears to have a fighter talent in this comic book. Then it would appear she loses it when the Empire Strikes Back and she goes back to being the Martyr type leader.
The art work in this comic is really, really nice. Usually you get nicely drawn covers and crap art inside so this is a big change for Star Wars type comic books.

As I was saying, the art is really good. Here are some sample from my digital book.

I went to my local comic store for it on Wednesday, but they said the shipment was delayed for some reason.

Sold out here in Seattle in one day. Checked all my indie comic shops but of course I was a couple of days late. My fault.
Had to order from ebay from a comic shop in Surprise, AZ. Cover price but shipping was a bit much.
