I like his look better than the Lizard, even though that look didn't bother me in the theater.

What I don't understand is...they obviously went out of their way to make Spider-Man's costume MORE comic accurate and did exactly the opposite with Electro.
I think with Spider-man you need to stay closer to the brand. Villains tend to be second tier characters that can be conceptualized according to the needs of the story. I'm still waiting to see full costume shots of Spidey though.
I love me some classic Spidey comics. The Lee/Ditko era is still my favorite. BUT, Electro's costume is hideous. It works great on the comic page, but translating it verbatim to the screen would probably be a disaster. Imagine if they made a live action Creeper film and kept his Ditko-design intact. Kind of the same thing, IMHO.
I think they just want to make the character a little more believable which is totally understandable. They did the same with dr Octopus and I'm glad they did.

Because Spidey's original comic book look is awesome...while Electro's sucks, that's why, lol.
Hey I've got a novel idea! How about a black leather or rubber costume with a few tiny ligtning bolts on it! Or maybe a trenchcoat!! That's something we've never seen in a superhero movie. Honestly what's the point if thy're going to make the superheroes blah??? I actually think that the whole realism excuse is pretty lame given the technology that we have today! Along with Electro, I for one would love to see the green and purple Mysterio costume in it's full glory!
When they take liberties with costume design, the one thing that bothers me more anything else is the attempt to be "current" . . . the hoodie thing is "played" . . . it's not cool . . . it's not street . . . it IS idodic
