Well, it's official...no Electro costume!

What I have a problem is not the costume change or the casting of Foxx, but the character of Electro himself, I just don't like that villain, a dude who shoots electric bolts, that's boring to me. A more exciting villain for Spidey is someone physical who can match the webhead blow by blow...I would've preferred someone like Carnage, now THAT would've ruled.

Carnage would throw the continuity off though, I know where this is all headed, a trilogy finalizing with the Green Goblin and the death of Gwen Stacy.

Dane Dehaan is a great casting as Harry Osborn though. I can really see him turning to the darkside.

The first director that makes a super hero movie with a large gathering of heroes wearing costumes is going to be successful. There's a lot of us that are from the old school and don't get why modern movies have to try and "make it real." They have already stretched the reality with the fantasy of the super powers they have. Why not just throw the costumes on? It was like Smallville series, they were so scared to put Tom Welling in the Superman costume. It became the Kryptonite to the show series.

Oh boy... Foxx just offered an overview of Electro's origin this morning. To say my interest is deflating fast is an understatement. What a one dimensional, stereotype-laced, story. Sounds like a reworking of Schumacher's Riddler. Ugh...

It's a weird situation.... Electro's pretty much an old school generic "bwahahahahaaaa!!!!! I'm EVIL!" bad guy. I can see them wanting to flesh him out a bit, but this take is kinda.... well, yeah; Riddler-y. 'Course, do you REALLY have to flesh hyim out at all, or will folks be happy so long as the fight scenes are cool?

I think, I'm going to sit this one out. I have no opinion on Electro either way. Jamie Fox has done some pretty good roles in his time. I liked the Amazing Spider-man. So I'm not going to speculate that the next one will be terrible. I'll go see it. I'll probably enjoy it.

i think if they veer further from the source material, they should just make up a new mad guy altogether.
