Conan had nothing to do with Walhalla, Odin, or any of the Norse Gods.
The Cimmerian has his own mythology, so I see no reason to make him share a table with Thor and exchange boasts about who's the baddest in town.
By Crom, who's writing this infernal movie?

Btw, I liked the Momoa version. I think he's pretty true to the books, he looks really fierce, and to be honest, he'd kick Arnie's gluteous maximus.
I thought the end was a little over the top (with the fight on the wheel), too much CG, not enough sword fighting. But in the end, a good effort.

      >Conan had nothing to do with Walhalla, Odin, or any of the Norse Gods.

I dunno; he killed plenty of Vanir in the books....

      >I guess I'm in the minority here but I thought the new one sucked

      UNMUTUAL!!!! UNMUTUAL!!!!

      >You Obviously Never read , or were not a Fan of Conan Comics.

....or novels; especially the Howard ones....

      >It looked like a made for tv movie like those sci-fi or hallmark channel ones

I don't think you're wrong; it had failry toned down production values.... but that was part of what I liked. It was more about the characters, diriter, more earthy than most films nowadays. (And I would have compared it to one of those endless 80's barbarian films....)

I wonder with him being so much older, if Sly is going to help him get buffed for this role? I think this could really be a damn cool movie. I'm so pumped I've been watching the first two again. Yes... even that garbage sequel. The crime in that film (and there are many) is that Arnie was in amazing shape, but the characters were so poorly cast. Grace Jones acted like she had rabies. The stolen princess looked like an actress that got lost on the back lot trying to find her way back from an after school 80's love story. And Wilt just looked like a basketball player at a Halloween party. There were a few parts that were fun. I still like Conan punching out the camel again. But for the most part it was a horrid follow up to the original masterpiece. There's just no saving Destroyer, no matter how you want to look at it.

Grandpa Conan and the Temple of Geritol. Arnold as Conan in the 80's is one thing. Now? Could get messy.

I personally liked Arnie's Conan movie more (probably mostly because of the nostalgia factor)...but in terms of who himself made the better personal authentic-looking Conan, without a doubt is the new guy, Momoa...he just looks way more like Frazetta's Conan than Arnie...and yes...Momoa moves much faster and athletically, he just displays and handles the sword much better...Arnie has always been a slow dude...his swordsmanship was in friggin' slow-motion without the slow-motion capture, lol.

You are not alone. I did not care for it either. I look forward to Arnold rebuilding himself back up (bodywise) and kicking *** as the king!
