I post something I think is funny and you turn it into a personal attack. Hector post Youtube videos of Tobey screaming and you don't attack him? Further more...I OWN all 3 Spiderman movies, so I must really hate Tobey huh?

Because when Hector does it, he does it to be funny and then laughs at differing views. See the Dark Knight/Superman debate. We can exchange differing views for humor sake and all is fine. When you inject humor you criticize altering views and suddenly it becomes a rant about who is "better". No one is better. Everyone can love what they like (box office or not). My comment at the bottom was nothing more than a reflection on the business decision to dump Tobey. Spider-man 3 was not a particularly good film, but it still had a massive pay day at the box office. I actually liked the new one BETTER than the last installment. And I have an even funnier joke on Tobey than what you have. But you've been ripping Tobey since they first announced a new Spider-man movie. So it seems like you have a real angst against this guy. Like he ran over your dog or something. That's why it feels personal when you post it. And your response adds to that feeling when you rip me for my posting and then claim the new one is "better". So in the end it never feels like a joke. Its like you need to wipe your hands clean of the previous entry, so you p*ss on it relentlessly to make it official. I like the new Spider-man. Better than I thought. But I like the old one too. I can live with both in general discussion and jokes. So joke away. But let others have their voice too. That's all.Comment

All I can say dude is you read way to much into it, but that's the internet for you. I saw Spiderman 1 & 2 at least two times in the theater, bought all 3 DVDs and just upgraded Spiderman 2 to Bluray. So if you think I've some hate on for Tobey...then you couldn't be more wrong.sigpicComment

I think between the two I liked Tobey's acting better but Garfield looks way more the part as Peter/Spidey. They could have picked actors that were much worse.
Looking past the casting, I hope the storytelling is better in the next installment. Im glad we wont have to go thru another origin (even slightly altered) unless its for a villain.
So...is the next one Green Goblin? I hope for a more traditional take on a villain next go around. I think the one thing I really couldnt get past in this version was the Lizards design but I knew that going in.Comment

I couldn't disagree more.
Maguire is a limited actor with a perpetual smirk on his face...he constantly overacts (over the top)...he high-pitches his lines at times...he really is a mediocre actor at best.
Garfield is a much more natural actor...smoother...very subtle in his craft. Perhaps that's why he might not leave an impression...but look at his facial expressions...his delivery...IMO...he's on another level from Maguire altogether.
My humble opinion of course...

cool, is this going to turn into a Superman Batman debate thread, too?You must try to generate happiness within yourself. If you aren't happy in one place, chances are you won't be happy anyplace. -Ernie BanksComment
