That's good to know. Warner Premiere did those Cartoon Network Scooby-Doo movies. They were decent, and my kids like them, but I wouldn't be surprised to see more of those kind of things show up under WB proper.

Even if they say that there will still be dvd releases, this is a step towards all digital.

There's no doubt all media is moving closer and closer to digital delivery. That's not really a concern to me. I preferred drinking Coke out of little green glass bottles, but I adapted to cans and plastic jugs. I'm just glad that the announcement didn't mean the end of DC's cartoon movies, particularly at Dark Knight Returns Part 1. Warners' animated efforts may be uneven, but I've enjoyed most of them. The only real stinker, to me, was Batman Gotham Knights. But I'm sure it's somebody's favorite. The Wonder Woman DVD didn't sell very well, but its one of my favorite depictions of the character, period. I really enjoy the little documentaries that are generally included on the Blu-Rays, too. Plus, at least the DCnU hasn't poisoned these releases, as of yet, although I'm sure its coming.

I first read about Warner Premiere being shuttered on comicbookmovie.com, a site that allows its members to rewrite news reports from other sites without doing any reporting or fact checking at all. It also allows for speculation and opinion to be intermingled with facts, as if it were a straight news report. If whoever rewrote the story hadn't speculated on the DC animated movies, which were not mentioned whatsoever in the Warner Bros.' announcement, there never would have been an issue. A quick phone call to Warner could have cleared the air. But, I'm guessing the person who cribbed the story for comicbookmovie.com isn't connected enough to even get a call through to the studio to check the facts.

Even if the person had written the story as speculation, it would have been OK, but that wasn't clear. The writer flat out reported DC animated films were down the tubes when that was an assumption, not a fact.

I like comicbookmovie.com because it aggregates information from a lot of sites that I don't have time to visit on regular basis, but it does it in such a haphazard, questionable and unprofessional way that it really has no credibility. The site is nothing more than a message board pretending to be a news source.

World's Finest confirms that the DCU movies are safe, and that not only is an adaptation of "Superman: Brainiac" in the works but also "Justice League: Flashpoint".

The World's Finest has confirmed that the future of the DC Universe Animated Original Movie line is currently safe and sound despite the just-announced shuttering of the Warner Premiere direct-to-DVD feature line from Warner Home

How do you figure? It was all 4 comics verbatim. If fact, Bruce Tim said that they put EVERYTHING in the comic into the movie, and it still came up short time wise. Read the Comics again...I have.

You and me both brother! Doing these comic adaptions in animation is better than live action, because they don't have to change the story to appeal to a wider audience. Plus they can try and capture the artist's style from the book.

^^ no doubt. with the exception of Gotham Knights I have liked all of them. Superman/Doomsday was disappointing though in how much they changed the story line and left out. it would have been better as a 2 parter as well, but even at that i enjoyed it and have watched it a few times

Year One was the most faithful adaptation of a comic EVER. I really enjoyed it.

Gotham Knights is the only stinker of the lot for me, although I've yet to see Superman vs. The Elite.

I've sat thru it exactly once, and didn't find it nearly as well done as the comic in any aspect. The animation was very stale and by the numbers. I've read the comics in the original format off the shelf and later onthe hardback that I still have, thanks. It just really didn't do much for me as a cartoon. The straight adaptations that they have done have come out pretty flat. So put your googly eyes back in your head and let me think for myself.
