    Dark Knight Returns adaption trailer

The link below goes to Ifanboy.com which has posted the trailer for DC Entertainment's DVD adaption of Miller's Dark Knight Returns Part I.

Trailer looks great. I'll have to get used to Batman's voice, but I'm excited about this one. Like the style of the animation much better than the recent Superman vs. Elite.

Link's working on my end, but just go to www.ifanboy.com or most any of the other comic websites.

Comic Book Resource has it too:

I'm surprised they didn't try to match Miller's style more closely, although his style changed from book to book on this one...

I liked the trailer, but didn't LOVE the trailer. Weller's voice as The Batman is okay, but it would have been even better had they told him to drop it an octave and make it a little raspier. I'm not really digging the Mutant leader's voice at all (i always heard him in my head as sounding, ironically enough, kind of the way Bane sounded win TDKR). I also really wish they'd have retained Bryan Cranston as Gordon--he'd've been perfect in this movie for that role. The animation looks pretty good and they did adhere to Miller's style for the most part, but there are a couple of shots there where it seems to revert back to the usual DC animation style...
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

It looks good, but I'm feeling the segment for TNBA's "Legends of the Dark Knight" seemed more faithful.

Yeah, I'm really not understanding Warner's choice on art style with these features. I totally understand that they can't duplicate the style of the comics, but the style on Superman vs. Elite was really puzzling to me. I liked the movie, but had to get over the animation style. At least this seems to have a modified Miller look with the characters. I don't get the box art though. While I like the look of it, it certainly doesn't represent the product that well.

I'm not the biggest fan of DKR, but this looks action-packed and fun.

Just read that the Warner Premiere label is being put out to pasture. DKR part one will be released under it and that will be the last. The fate of part 2 is up in the air. The decline of sales is blamed along with digital formats being explored instead of hom video releases. This doesn't really surprise me, the quality of most of this stuff was so-so and really didn't get repeat viewings out of me. Wish I would have passed on Year One and saved 15 bucks.

I'll buying this movie on Bluray the day it comes out! Which is more than I can say for Nolan's Dark Knight Rises.

P.S. Batman:Year One was an absolutely PERFECT adaption of the comic.

its oly part one of it that's in the pipeline to get released. Kind of pointless if there is no part two. And Year One was far from perfect. It really suffered from the time compression like most of the adaptations do.

Hmm, I thought these were selling pretty well. Too bad.

I know they thought only Superman and Batman sold, but to the average consumer, I bet these all looked alike. It didn't help that the outer artwork rarely matched the art style of the movie or original comic.

A lot of the older ones like GL and WW have been surfacing at Big Lots and other close out type places, usually not the best sign.

My understanding is that Warner's shut its live-action direct-to-DVD venture down but moved its animation projects to Warner Home Video. It seems bloggers/posters that cribbed the article from a Warner Bros. press release for comicbookmovie.com and other sites jumped to some conclusions without checking facts.
