That Blu-Ray sounds sweet. This movie deserves a fully loaded release for sure.

I can't place it above Superman: The Movie. It's my favorite film of all-time. It's the first movie I saw in theaters.

But, if I step outside myself and look at it from a technical standpoint, Avengers is a more cohesive film, and adapts the genre of Super Hero comics more authentically.

I agree, it is great, but some (small) parts, like Loki's minions, weren't that interesting imo, and seemed like the waves upon waves of identical-looking CG that we're getting these days.
I would have preferred Skrull, definitely, or Asgardian warriors loyal to Loki.

I loved the movie, the Avengers themselves were fantastic, but there's always room for improvement. It is not because you don't like certain parts of a movie, that you dislike the whole thing.
And yes, I'll definitely buy the Blu-ray the day it comes out!

Without Loki's cgi minions, what is Hulk supposed to smash?

Avengers was very very good. It really gave each hero their own beats and I really liked that it was a traditional Averngers take on the Hulk (a bit dumb but not the mindless brute we saw in the Norton Film) "puny god". I loved helicarrier (Can't have Shield without it). I was hoping for a LMD of Phil at the end but maybe in the next one.

I HATED the look of the aliens. I just can't get inot this whole "organic" look for CGI. Just cause it worked in ALIENS doesn't mean everything has to look that way. Certainly worth seeing in the theater

Marvel has successfully pulled off a good superteam film and created a nicely cohesive universe for film. DC has ALOT of catchup before they can pull off a Justice Leage film

The army served it's purpose. Is it really any different than the throngs of random aliens or Hydra or AIM soldiers from any Marvel comic?

Well it wasn't really random. The Chitauri were the aliens in (I've only seen the DTV so it may not be the chase with the comic) Ultimate Avengers, so it was actually staying true to the origin (it's a merging of The Avengers and The Ultimates). And to me, they looked cool, they had bad-*** armor, bad-*** guns, and a cool design (at least I thought). They didn't look like the Chitauri though, if anything they looked more like the Kree.

You have to see it in theaters, it won't be the same on a T.V.! And some people have rainy day money. If they want to spend it on The Avengers, then let them. And btw, that dollar amount is a little low.
