    Remember when we marveled (ahem) at seeing our comic heroes painted like that? Now it's like, "ho hum".

      Are you saying that you feel that way, or is that what other people are feeling? Because that has to be one of the best covers I have ever seen. The coloring and shading is awesome!

        I did remember seeing the 2nd Superman/Spidey crossover on the shelves. I passed on it due to the frighteningly huge pic of the Hulk on the back page. I was a weenie back then!

        I bought the Batman/Hulk treasury edition back when it first came out, and always wanted the Warner books paperback edition, too... which I finally found years later.
        With the 2nd Supes/Spidey crossover it was the other way around... I found the paperback edition first and then later finally picked up the treasury edition.

          I really loved the old superhero cards/stickers back in the 70's. I still have a handful of those that managed to survive being stored. Great fun!

            I still love it, it's just that a painting of a comic character used to be a rare treat. Now, thanks to guys like Alex Ross, it's very common. The uniqueness of it is somewhat lost.
