I couldn't get into the Peyton Starman, but I think that was simply indicative of an era of my adolescence where I preferred my heroes with that hint of British/vertigo (before all my fave titles of the time were branded in that line). Which I think Robinson's Starman fit into.
Loved what he did with Peyton... You really get a sympathetic character with a real arc, and the twist with Ditko's was kind of cool. Back then Robinson seemed to have a real gift for imbuing all the Starman with a bit of character rather than just tossing them out on the heap. He really wrote the template on the legacy hero, and it's really telling that he was a mentor to Geoff Johns in hose early days.
Did Alfred and Gordon have their own solo adventures in this title as well? I'm guessing those didn't last as long since I don't remember them in later issues?
