      Jack Knight?

I tend to think Robinson had the majority of the Shade mini-series plotted out for quite some time now. DC's New 52 reboot seems like some more seat-of-the-pants thinking that probably wasn't in the planning stages as long as the Shade mini.

Sorta reminds me of one hand not knowing what the other was doing when they had Grant Morrison and Jim Starlin both handling the death of the New Gods in different ways during the whole Countdown/Final Crisis debacle. In addition, DC gave Starlin the go ahead to muck up the histories of Adam Strange and Hawkman (as if even needed any help) for one of his space epics that resulted in two specials and nothing more after that...

I don't understand why Batman & Batgirl can't look like that again in current books.

And, after gawking at that picture, is it any wonder I had (and still have) a giant-arse crush on Batgirl!! I mean, she's the epitome of costumed hotness in that picture!!!
          Ditto.
That's THE definitive Batman to me. And the definitive hot Batgirl.

I never liked Baby blue Batman colors, always hated that for me it looked stupid. I always liked the black with the grey and black oval or no oval Bat never mattered to me but drawing it over and over is a *****.....

I always dug the first appearance look with the Purple gloves and Love the Gotham by Gaslight design.......

He's always talked about the additional Shade adventure he had in mind, as well as Jack Knight's adventures in Japan... that's the one I'm hoping he gets back together with Tony Harris to do, but that ship might have sailed.

I'm just glad DC didn't kick the Shade mini-series to the side when it opted for the relaunch.

"Starman" is one of the high points of my DC Comics "reading career"... Too bad it's not in continuity anymore...

Yep. This is the period that made Batman my second favorite hero. I'm actually glad I still have ton of Batman "needs" from the 70's and early 80's since there's not much left for me get Spidey-wise (my #1).

Here are a couple I won't forget. We were flying to Florida when I was 10 and I remember having these to read. They were no brainers for my collection now.

The crazy thing was all I remmebred about the seond one was the cover, and Batman getting shot at with lasers in the snow.

I think I'm the only person that liked the Will Payton version of Starman. Back when it was going on, I worked in a grocery store that always had either that or Ralph Snart Adventures from NOW Comics. I just kind of fell into it and really started following it for a while. I thought it was okay, for the time.

I don't think I ever read it when it was an active series...I waS more familiar with the Steve Diko Starman...

I liked the Payton Starman okay, but man, that yellow and purple costume was atrocious. When he went red and black I liked that look better.
