Garcia Lopez's Joker art is phenomenal in that tabloid...Think OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging!Comment

That's some classic shizznit! I remember when that was in the news and Stan was interviewed on eyewitness news about the cross over. Garcia Lopez was a freeking amazing illustrator very few ever reached his level of draftsmanship.
I have all those books and I'm always on the look out for those treasury editions from both DC and MarvelComment

As much as I like the Busiek/Perez JLA/Avengers I still wish we got a tabloid sized team up with Perez art back in the day...Think OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging!Comment

some of the Amalgam were fun, but non beat the classics. I don't even think the recent Perez JLA/Avengers could have matched the thrill of what the original could have been.

It's a shame Jim Shooter put a stop to the original JLA/Avengers. I've read multiple accounts from folks on both sides, and almost everyone agrees Shooter just refused to play ball. He let a simple miscommunication shut down the whole project as I recall.
The eventual Busiek/Perez version may be the last truly fun comic project published by the big two before both seemed to get mired in the super-mega-event-blood-and-gore-reboot era.
