She could but how do you sell that to mainstream? It's not like she has a Luthor or a Joker...

The corporate thing was done in Namor by Byrne in the early nineties, so thats nothing really new.
I still think its best to have a comics professional at least overseeing the whole production.

I understand that, but knowing Hollywood their answer is to create some lame corporate villain who's out to destroy the world(yet again)

Mythological gods are not a hard sell and she's woven into that. Having her and the Amazons fight them would at least peek my interest.....

I just could not stomach a film with her coming to New York and have those lame OMG a woman in a bikini moment and wow she's as strong as Superman....to me that's corny as all ****.....

I actually like some of the things done in the WW Carter pilot. It was actually close to the original story though done on a shoestring budget.

The Wonder Woman animated movie that came out a while back from DC was actually pretty good an unexpected pleasant surprise....
I agree totally. That's probably my favorite Wonder Woman story in any medium, but it really doesn't have its roots in a particular story other than Perez' revamped origin.

I agree that Perez's Wonder Woman is probably the best and followed by Ruka and Azzerello's takes, imo. They are all somewhat similar. But again there is no one iconic story to hang a hat on. The most iconic ww stories date back to the 40s, but I don't think DC will go that direction.

The problem with the mythological angle is that you not only have to set up WW, the Amazons and Paradise Island, you also have to set up the Greek gods. That's a lot to do in 2 hour film.

And unless done deftly, to the general public, it could come off as a ripoff of the Zena TV show, which is more prevalent that the WW series today through syndication.

I personally think it might be easier to spin her out of a Justice League movie. Get her introduced and then supply a more detailed backstory with her own solo film.

Seems like the WBers could draw a bit of inspiration from that other WW2 era patriotic superhero that did well at the box office. Start her off during the war fighting crazed Nazi super science and occult stuff, then shift her to the present toward the end hunting down Nazi remnants hiding out in South America who are trying to bring demons to Earth to back a Fourth Reich.

I had heard about the Brady Kids, but never seen it (any episode). Ye gods, that was painful!!!

It seems kind of odd that WW hasn't gotten SOME kind of live action update off the ground.

I enjoy the WWII episodes of Wonder Woman, but I have a hard time with the 70s episodes. Funny how they seem far more dated than the "period piece" shows.

I think Joss Whedon would have done a good job with Wonder Woman given his track record with both genre and strong female characters. It's just that he didn't have so much clout following Serenity's disappointing box office. Plus we might likely have had Nathan Fillion as Steve Trevor.

I think Wonder Woman has a hugely under used rogues gallery. Besides Giganta or Cheetah, there is Circe and Ares. Now the rest of the Greek Gods are stepping up in the latest series... Hades and Hera in particular. Gail Simone wrote a delightfully delirious Doctor Psycho, and I always thought Doctor Poison could make a better bad guy. I kind of wish Paula Gunther would get a make-over... Along with any number of Nazi baddies.
