If the movies good i could easily deal with it. If the comics good im ok with it. I really prefer the pre-crisis Superman anyway. (Ive basically ignored the Supes titles the last twelve years or so)

Frank is a great artist. I will say that I like this piece for the artistry, but they do look...evil. There is no joy left in super hero comics. It's on the big screen, but it's been sucked out of almost every published comic.

I like this redesign...I wish they had tapped Gary Frank to redesign the new 52 instead of Jim Lee...Although I'd still want trunks on Superman and Batman

Yeah, that design does look a LOT better than what they went with for the New 52. And he does have trunks, just grey to go with the rest of the suit. If these Earth 1 books are to set the pace for the movies in the future, I'd love to see that Batman on the screen after Nolan is done.

Yeah, I'd like to see that as well! That Earth 1 Batman suit would translate well to the big screen I think, if they use the right material.

I really liked Gary Frank's stuff in Midnight Nation.


Like all the other Marvel UK artists of that era (chiefly Bryan Hitch). Gary Frank was amongst the Alan Davis clones before finding his own voice.
