I really like what they've done with all the costumes...the Avengers, WWII, and the USO. I think they nailed his look for the big screen. NO complaints here.

Which Cap costume do you prefer? WWII or Avengers?

I personally prefer the WWII outfit but the modern one isn't bad either. Considering how bad they could have messed up; I'll take it. Also, they could have made Hawkeye boorish looking so as to make Captain America and Iron Man stand out since they seem to be the two Marvel properties (along with Spidey) going forward for now."The farther we go, the more the ultimate explanation recedes from us, and all we have left is faith."

The WW II version has grown on me. At first I didn't care for it because it hewed toward the Ultimates version of Cap, which just isn't Captain America to me, but it just made sense.
I don't mind the Avengers version. Like Derek wrote, it's fairly faithful to the comics. But after the WW II version, it does look stripped down. I would have liked to have seen the wings on the helmet/mask rather than painted on.
Yeah, Hawkeye's uni is a little bland, but it does nod to the comics. Hawkeye's costume isn't that great of a design in the first place.Comment

I too would have liked to see the helmet-wings in relief & the boots less "techno." But I think the update is pretty good.WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.Comment

Agreed! The lighting on Thor especially is messed up. It would also be nice to actually see our heroes on the cover instead of the actors all the time.Comment

I was actually gonna post this myself, but you beat me to it, Mr. Banner. The cover looks disjointed to me mostly because it looks like they pulled different photos together and just kinda glommed into one cover, which is odd for EMPIRE because they usually have better covers than that.
I, too, am tired of seeing the actor behind the hero. We ALL know RDJ plays Iron Man, so howzabout putting Iron Man on the cover instead of Iron Man sans his helmet? Ditto for Cap; looks like he spends most of the movies without his mask on (which is probably good, 'cause his mask in the movie just looks like balls to me. And WHY does BW/Scarlett Johannsen earn such a place of prominence on the cover when she was never really an Avenger to begin with...? Because she's Scarlett Johannsen, that's why....sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. These are the newsstand covers of the issue showing the individual heroes (the subscriber copy above was an amalgamation of all the separate covers):
Yeah, I noticed that Evans looks blonder here, too.
I hope that carries over into the actual movie.
He's now played two of Marvel's blondest heroes, and they haven't bothered to dye his hair for either!
I like that they've gone back to the classic circular chest repulsor for Iron Man.
I really hope Thor dons his helmet at least once during the movie!
