Maybe they plan on bringing back the Spider-clones in theri own title. Mephisto comes to collect Peter's soul as payment and Pete shoves a clone over to him instead. It ends with him saying, " There's more where that came from bucko!"

If they wanted to erase people's memories of him revealing his secret identity why couldn't they just call on the Beyonder instead. Not an obvious baddie like Mephisto but atill a better alternative.

Sheesh why doesn't Peter make like a 100 Aunt May clones, so ask one kicks off he can replace her.

Makes about as much sense as any Marvel plotline.

I just finished reading that issue... "One more day?" How about, "Pull the plug!" JESUS. You mean to say we've been reading deadend sub-plots for all of this time? That Parker couldn't reason letting his Aunt May die to keep the love of his life? How long was he in her basement at home? That makes no sense. And what exactly does that do to the rest of the Marvel Universe? How can Cap still be dead? How can any part of the Civil War still exist? It can't! If Mephisto changes for one, he changes for all. This just fries every story I've been reading. I should have known the writers were going to panic and pull out the "FIX IT" button. I always said the entire Marvel universe was too far off it's axis to not have to be "reset" by a Godly power. I never knew how right I would be. It helps to be cynical about comic book writing. No matter how far out they take you, at the end of the day they always have to bring you back...so what's the point?

So, if Harry's alive...and MJ was never married to Peter, does Venom exist? Remember when MJ first saw venom hiding in the closet with an evil smile? She thought it was Pete. But now, that never happened.

And what about Hydro-Man? Wasn't he diggin' on MJ too? Does he exist? What about the Kangaroo?

YEP Crash Blaze dies of a heart attack instead. Roy THomas nod to faust

Crash SIMPSON (stepfather figure) has his cancer cured by Mephisto (whom Johnny Blaze at the time believed to be "Satan"), before dying performing a motorcycle stunt.

Although the movie swapped out Barton Blaze in place of Crash Simpson.

LOL! I love the fact that this solution kills two birds with one stone... One More Day AND the godawful Clone Saga.

The Beyonder is now revealed to be an Inhuman in the pages of New Avengers Illuminati.

Although I'm not sure how he was potrayed in the recent Beyond! miniseries by Dwayne Macduffie. I've been meaning to pick this one up.

I've been checking out the Marvel Podcast every now and then. I think that at some time during every podcast I've listened to, someone from Marvel say's, "Just think how different the MU would be if Stan was still in charge." Which is a great point, because Stan was fearless with the characters. Stan would probably have killed off Aunt May and MJ years ago, but he wouldn't negate 20 years of stories with something as rediculous as a "deal with the devil".

Stupid stupid stupid.

Just keep in mind that it was Stan who insisted on marrying off Peter and MJ in the first place. He wanted the comic book to coincide with the comic strip he was writing at the time.

I seem to recall they had to do some dancing around to make that happen. Weren't Peter and MJ "just friends" at that point (because MJ had figured out that he was Spiderman) and Peter was dating the Black Cat?

I still remember what a big media event that marriage of Spiderman was. I think they even performed a ceremony with actors dressed as Spiderman and MJ, who wore a dress by a famous designer.

Venom is still around, although he's inhabiting Mac Gargon,AKA The Scorpion.

I'm quite enjoying how he's being potrayed in The Thunderbolts.





Anyone else think this is pretty much a retread of the Charles Atlas "How Venom made a man out of Mac" parody that appeared in What The?! a decade ago? ("Stop kicking SANDMAN in my face!")

I'm sure they will reveal how the sequence of events kept Harry from dying.

Given how overexposed and overused Norman has been since his return following the clone sage, it was about time that Harry got back into the spotlight. Particularly since the public is pretty familiar with him now thanks to the movies.

I like Norman's new position as director of Thunderbolts. It's obvious that Warren Ellis is having gleeful fun writing the character trying to keep it together and his insanity at bay.

It kinda bugs me when folks analyse stuff like this. Kinda. Whatever happened to reading something and whatever happens happens; like it or not?

Probably a combo of growing up, and being smacked in the face with a number of really, REALLY bad stories. Fair enough.

And yeah; a lot of it no doubt looks familiar. Like I said in another post; you can only do SO MANY stories before you start lapping yourself. And if you don't want to go back to the days of Batman flying the Batplane to Alpha Centauri to solve space-crime you're gonna run out of stories that much faster.

What bothers me is that when writers get themselves into a pickle (like this story), the typical solution is either divine intervention or a deal with the devil.

"Hey, we can't write ourselves out of this one, so let's have God or Satan wave their magic wand and take us back to before all this started! Great idea!"

To me, the thing that makes the Spider-man series different from other Superhero comics is the love story between Peter and MJ. Now they've taken that away. What are they going to do? Bring back Gwen Stacy now?

Sure they can write it (Peter's and MJ's relationship) back as Anthony (toyroom) said, but in my world, no one waves a magic wand when something goes wrong or bad.

People die. Let Aunt May die. She is not going to live forever anyway. No one does. Let the old woman die. LET HER DIE!!!!!

This kind of story-line is why I gave up on reading Spider-man a long time ago. Give me Ditko and Romita, thank you very much.
