Hey, Damien...could you take on Carano in a fight?
I think you would...you are bigger, heavier...and stronger (you probably hit harder too)...she would probably have an advantage over you on some jiu jitsu skills...but I don't think that would be enough for her.
Personally speaking, I want a Wonder Woman who still looks...womanly. I don't want some sinewy chick with an Adam's apple and the chest of a 14-year old boy. Just like I don't want some overly-muscle bound steroid freak playing Superman.
The actor should be able to express the physicality of the character and look like they can hold their own, but it is ACTING. They don't have to be a real warrior to pull it off. Most of those people can't act their way out of a paper bag.

I agree...ACTING is the key here...looks help a lot too obviously...but if she can't act...what's the bloody point of it all.
Carano has the look and real toughness...but going by her trailer...she needs more acting lessons...lol.
Cyborg is the baddest woman on the planet...but she's more masculine looking than Damien...lol.
That's why Jamie Alexander is the one...a solid actress, athletic enough...and with the beauty to go along with it...

Totally understand that but, in all fairness Lynda Carter was not a very good actress before WW and she was pretty stiff at times during the series......Lynda looked the part more than she actually could act.
Having rewatched that series I cringed at most of it.....

Damn...I hate it when you are right...
But in all fairness...on a TV show...you can be mediocre...or even bad.
For the movies though...it's a different animal altogether...you have people to pay to see that stuff.
This is not the sexist 70s anymore...today's Wonder Woman will not have a Playboy Bunny body...she will be athletic and amazonian...like an Olympic sprinter/swimmer, or something along those lines...big boobs don't cut it in athletics...lol.
The new Wonder Woman (if they ever make a film)...will be more like a female MMA fighter than a centerfold...
I don't think it has anything to do with the good old sexist 1970's and I wouldn't want someone that look like a current Playboy centerfold, way to fake looking. While WW is athlitic she doesn't have to work at it, it comes naturally. Athletic women in the real world, in order to maintain their lean athletic look loose body fat ( the stuff that makes up a large part of boobs ) - that wouldn't/shouldn't happen to a "amazon wonder woman" - that's why Lynda Carter look the part, she was athletic but so lean she lost her curves. Wonder Woman should always have curves, it a matter of finding a balance between athletic and a woman that can naturally fill out the uniform.
