She really does do that aborted poilot uniform justice. If they would have picked her, we may still be watching a new WW series this very week. Sad it did not work out ike tht, and sad the new series was not given a chance, it was not as bad as one thinks in my opinion.Comment

Since Wonder Woman herself is WAY past 40, I don't get what the problem is in having someone around that age to play her.
But, considering I'm 46, I'm a bit biased.
Alexander does have that tough attitude going for her, and would look good as WW.JediJaidaComment

Still I think the biggest problem in casting is getting someone that looks like Wonder Woman in the costume. There are plenty of beautiful athletic actresses but they don't have enough "on top" to fill out the costume without looking like implants. Wonder Woman is strong naturally, she doesn't workout and burn off all her body fat to be Super. That's what was the beat thing about Lynda Carter, she looked athletic without being skin and bones. Jamie Alexander looks great but to be crude even she doesn't and the boobs to fill out the WW outfit. Erica doesn't do to bad in that department.
As for getting an older actress to play the part, it could work in the beginning but if the show lasted like Smallville it would be a MAJOR problem. This is not the sexist 70s anymore...today's Wonder Woman will not have a Playboy Bunny body...she will be athletic and amazonian...like an Olympic sprinter/swimmer, or something along those lines...big boobs don't cut it in athletics...lol.
The new Wonder Woman (if they ever make a film)...will be more like a female MMA fighter than a centerfold...

I'm kinda shocked Carano is lead among all those famous movie actors...that's pretty unusual...I guess the movie studio will try and make her a movie star as well (now that she doesn't seem to want to fight MMA again). She looks great on screen...except when she speaks her lines...she seemed a bit wodden in that department...but then again...this is her first acting role.
BTW...say hello to Carano's mommy...
